OK were are all the goodies

Post by MSO94 »

Ok I have been waiting and waiting for this game and listening to the hype never could get a copy of the bata version to test the waters so i jumped in with both feet and spent 50.00
Now Im a lot upset.
Mostly in Arena
1. The play is very stiff
2. In league setup How can i pick each player for each team
3. Standing Printout of file save were is it
4. Trades how do I
5. Stats for the playoffs were are they and how do I get them saved
These are the tip of the ice I have a million questions

I may have been wrong but i was looking for a good Sim for Arena
were i can control the teams/players/Stats for output

If somebody can help me that would be great

I'll do my best.....
1. The play is very stiff

Don't know what to say here. The players are not motion captured, so they do not have the same fluid motion as say a Madden game would.
2. In league setup How can i pick each player for each team

The only way I know is through the draft. You can create players, but I have never tried it.
If anyone else knows maybe they can help better.
3. Standing Printout of file save were is it

There is no printing at this time. I'm trying to work on a utility to do that, but maybe someone else will come up with something first.
4. Trades how do I

To the best of my knowledge there is trading other than manually switching players from team to team and I'm not sure you can even do that at this point.
5. Stats for the playoffs were are they and how do I get them saved

No idea.

So I guess in the end I wasn't much help, but I'm sure my info is pretty accurate.

Just a note here. When third party utilities start to handle league functions, this game will rock! It may take a little time though.

MSO94, did you download the few extra Indoor plays from the download area? They add some defensive options to the game. I think I may have to rework the kick-off return play though, because the game has changed a bit since that play was created.

I would say DONT waist your money .

No stats worth collectin
Tardes are brutal
Computer Picks for your draft.
Live Action is very rigid at best
Uniform Creation is not entry level experience.
Low detail in arena.
career stat information is minimul at best

I would spend the money on madden an pretend it is a canadian league
If Arena Football goes to the computer this game will dye a quick death.

except for the hardcore few that find it good.

Granted, my opinion is very biased, but I have to dissagree here.

No stats worth collectin
The stats recorded are typical football stats. Passing, rushing, catching, kicking.

Computer Picks for your draft.
You have full control over what you draft. You can let the CPU draft or you can do it yourself. If your team is human controlled, the draft process waits for you to make a selection.

Live Action is very rigid at best
This is a subjective observation, but the fluidity of animation depends completely on the abilities of your computer. If you have a low end computer, the animation is likely going to be very choppy. Considering the animation is not motion capture, I don't think they're too bad.

Uniform Creation is not entry level experience.
The uniform creation can be as easy or complex as you wish it to be. As far as I'm aware, you have more abilities to create and use your own unfiorms than any football game out there. When you create a new team, the game creates base uniforms for you that you can then modify as you see fit.

Low detail in arena.
Detail levels can be set by the user according to their computer's abilities.

career stat information is minimul at best
The career stats are the same as the rest of the game. Passing, running, catching, kicking, etc...

I dont want to get into a pissing match. I was expecting much more from this game as it had been hyped for two years or so. All the talk was it was going to do this and that. and to me it is a madden 95 type game. not a lot to brag about.

Were are the links to save these files for use as a web page for Simulator leagues. or print these files

Were are the list of players that you can preview the draft and send it to your teams vias the net for the upcoming draft

The players run striaght upward nopt real action IE back to the days of NHL 94 no real movement all very manaquin type movements. Not real worried about as I am interested in a Sim game for a simulation Arena/Canadian league

The Uniform can be made to what you want yes if yopu are very understanding of templates and creating them. The game should come with the templates in a easy format instead of pieceing them together and hoping for a match. This would make the user more creative if they didnt have to go back and forth and redoing the model and creating need folders for each uniform. Then testing it on the viewer and then moving it to the folder for the game.

Low detail in arena.
Detail levels can be set by the user according to their computer's abilities.
The level of detail has nothing with the computer. The whole arena looks to BoxyThere should be Lights camera action type views in the game

career stat information is minimul at best
The career stats are the same as the rest of the game. Passing, running, catching, kicking, etc...

Were are they printable and downloadable. How do I keep track of John Smith RB of Team "X" over his career.

My problem is this game is not user friendly Its a basic begining for a game with more room for improvements than the democrates.
As i belive I said before I was looking for a top notch sim game for Arena and CAnadian Football. IE Action Sport Football with optainable stats and player movement. Printable files and easily read files.

What are the chances of this game making the turn to the good side of my world. Its has a shot but needs tender care and a shock treatment to keep it alive. The object of the sale of the game should be to continue to expand and improve.
What can I look for in the NEAR future for this game

They're stored in the league database. Most web page design tools can easily connect to this type of database and obtain the stats to be posted in a page.

Instead of complaining about what you don't like about the game, you should learn how to use the correct spelling.

"Where" is spelled W.H.E.R.E., not W.E.R.E.[:-]
"Waste" is spelled W.A.S.T.E., not W.A.I.S.T.[:-]

I can't speak for everyone else, but reading your spelling errors (not to mention your grammar) is the equivalent of fingernails running across a blackboard.

As much as incorrect spelling can be annoying, it doesn't invalidate a post. I want this forum to be open to good opinions and also bad opinions, that how we'll improve this game.

For the Uniforms

if you don't wish to make them MSO you can download them at www.fbmax.com I have a few on my site also. You can mix and match some of the jerseys too. I'm sure none of the creators would mind

Check out this stuff

I would start with the uniform tutorial
http://www.fbmax.com/utilities.asp

you could use MS paint, solid colors don't look all that bad except for maybe the helmet
they have templates you can use there but you will need a program like paintshop pro or Gimp to use those.

I know what your going thru I actually bought a computer just to play fbpro95 after seeing it at a friends house and had a hardtime figuring how to use some of the utilities

Again, I have to dissagree here. The templates are very easy to understand. Based on the artwork I'm seeing in the graphics section of these forums, I think others are finding it very easy to understand as well. The uniform files are bmp and open source. Unlike other games, you don't need special extractors or other utilities to access the files for editing. I'm not sure what you mean by moving back and forth in folders. You place the viewer in the folder with the uniform files and load it. You edit the files you wish to edit, and refresh the viewer. Many games (such as those from EA and Microsoft) you are required to use a special extractor (that may not even work properly because it was built by a 3rd party that is hacking the custom format) to get the files out of the custom format, edit them, then use possibly another tool to pack them back to the special format. Then you need to load the game to see the changes and repeat the process if the changes were not what you were after. Having the bmp files open and in a folder is much simplier than having to load the whole game to see the changes you've made. There is even a special viewer for just the helmets.

Were are they printable and downloadable. How do I keep track of John Smith RB of Team "X" over his career.

They're on the team edit screen. Select export and the exports those stats to a text file that you can print or do whatever you like with.

Well The Problem i have is this
I want it now not 6 Weeks later with 400 hours of hard work just to figure out how to pass a ball or trade a player. I want easy instructions and simple Templates.

All I wanted to do was start a four team Arena League and see how the game works. being able to track the draft and print it out wasn't a fare cry I thought.

I have been using Action Sport Football for 4 or 5 years and it has a million stats. fully useable with Trades Salaries and everything you need.
He is not anytime goinmg to do an Arena league version . Of Cours.

These are the kinds of uniforms I want in the game.

But my problem is i dont have the talent to work these templates to make them come out correct.

I'm sure if you posted these to the graphics forum, many people would be more than happy to build these uniforms for you in a few hours. They're not complicated uniforms so should be fairly simple to build. We have some wonderful artists in the Maximum-Football community. I'm sure with a polite request, you'll have these in no time.
