always detailed battle option

Post by gwgardner »

Any chance of getting an option to always use detailed/tactical battle on land? The quick battle format is supremely dorky.

By the way, when asking these questions for possible changes, I would like to say that the game is very fun to play, with many great features.

I'm bit surprised that noone else shares this opinion about the quick battle format. Nor anyone else who would like the option to do detail battle at whatever the troop numbers present. Has this option been ruled out in the past, or ... what?

In the beginning of beta testing, it was the case that players could always choose detailed combat, but we thought that detailed battles between just one or two divisions were kind of silly. I'll consider adding an .ini file option to all detailed battles in all circumstances if a few people request it.

Agrees with last speaker. I tend to lose much more troops in Quick battles. I would like to choose too.

Must agree the quick battles are really stupid. I loose irreplaceable Veteran units to inferior enemy forces all the time. And it seems to default on battles with 8 of my divisions against 5 of enemy this is a large battle. And represents half of my entire field armies. So why is it defaulting to quick ? No Quick battles option would be the way to go.

Ok getting realy annoying now. Its spoiling the main fun I get out of these games. Building green units up to veterans. And then kicking ass with them. Give me a solution to this bloodsucking soul destroying tendency for the game to default to. Quick battle's where it promply looses high value units in a cretinous display of incompetence.

Yes by the way great game, so many napoleonic games have disapointed, nice to play and pay for one that dos'nt. Please lets have that ini file.

I read in some thread recently that the upcoming patch will not have many changes from the old.  Can we at least get this one minor change included - to allow an option whereby we can have detailed battles always?  Seems like such a minor change would be required.  Thanks for your consideration.

OK.  It is too late to include in the next patch, but I'll add it to the one after that.
