Good stuff here

Post by Desertfox »

Just wanted to let you guys know there at Matrix that you have done a fabulous job revamping and improving this, I haven't skied 16 hours away on WIR in some time. Just a few comments, not a groaning session...I have noticed the soviet respawning units after another retreats and have it saved, should I send it to anyone? Also I havent seen isolated units recieve reinforcements, however I have hunted down and isolated a unit that when I attacked it it had lots of armor, I cut it off in the same turn BTW and the very next turn, when it was isolated I crushed it only to find no armor. Is that normal? Anyway, I love what you guys have done, how can we volunteer for beta testing for new stuff you guys are doing?

Yes, if you have save games that demonstrate the behavior you're seeing, zip the save files up for each example and send it to me with instructions on how to trigger the strange behavior.

Hey, thanks for sending the file to Ed. I always thought before when I saw this that the AI was cheating on the spot and creating new units to hold the hex for some reason. However since your file consistently shows the behavior, it was more likely to be something else. With your save game, it shows the Soviets, before the attack, already had 3 armies in that hex (!!!). With this, Arnaud should be able to find and fix the problem, assuming it is not buried really deep in the AI code, which is tough to work on. Thanks for the report and file - this problem has been around since the very beginning and never fixed.

Same here, thanks for the help, I should have come back and given you an update. In case you're wondering, I sent your save game to the Beta team mailing list, that is why RickyB has your save game. We need this kind of help from you guys on this forum. Thanks.
