RE: Foundering in Feudals

<r> <QUOTE><s>
</s>In a future patch, I'd like to make this moddable somehow, or else to design scenarios that have tighter economies, as I personally think that tighter economies and more severe waste rules make for a better game. <e>
</e></QUOTE> <br/>

RE: 2 North American Players Needed for PBEM group

This turn has been stuck with me. I have been out of the country.

How close is the patch? I understand that it will not incorporate old saved games. If this is correct and the patch is close, do you all want to continue or wait and start anew?

RE: 1796 NA PBEM AAR

<r> Turns two through five go a bit nutty in our game. The reason was that each of the human players - each wanting to control their own trade and diplomatic decisions - did not touch our settings in the policy screens. We assumed that if we did not have our experts turned on, then we could. You ...

RE: News from the Beta - Deviation List

<t> In any game like this (COG included), if you want historical rivals to act as such then you can artificially hard code a "must be at war" rule or you can make the scoring system such that it incents the player controlling that nation to oppose its rival. The more Napoleonic France gains in power ...

I am playing Austria and unlikliest of unlikelies...I have the highest glory (by a bit) at 91, although I don't expect it to last. The vs human game is much more fun than against the AI ...

RE: morale of new units

<t> I agree that battle experience should be the primary factor for increasing permananent morale. Gameplay factors should increase or decrease morale on a temporary basis, which means that your decisions and management of the troops will be more important. Losing big battles, losing a lot of men to ...

<t> The Marines took part in the Mexican-American War (1846–1848) and assaulted the Castillo de Chapultepec, or the Castle of Chapultepec, which overlooked Mexico City. The Marines were placed on guard duty at the Mexican Presidential Palace, "The Halls of Montezuma".<br/>

RE: serious combat bugs

<t> Eric (he notes politely) I do think his idea of putting a force along a road in a strung out column is a good idea to represent the unpreparedness of a force. I think his frustration, and possibly others, comes from the way the forces initially appear on the map - all grouped together in a hodge ...

<t> Agree with many of your points especially about the set-up. Unit which are in a province already should get their pick of terrain...a good point. Don't agree with number three, for which you will find a tremendous amount of debate. Read Muir's The Experience of Battle...or many other studies ...

RE: Getting the goods from a conquered minor?

<t> Yeah, I'm with you. The game doesn't seem to reward efficiency in your home provinces (I'm satisfied that waste does and should occur for conquered provinces and protectorates). I say it doesn't seem to b/c I've given up on trying to discern cause and effect due to the cumbersome reporting ...
