RE: Getting the goods from a conquered minor?

<t> I'm now used to the cap system and I would justify it with spoilage and corruption, etc. You just have to think of it as "use it or lose it." It also means you don't have to set alot of provinces to wood or iron because by the time you need it again, the small trickle has built to the maximum ...

RE: Wonder how that's going to work out for the Austrians

<t> I thought it was only a 2 glory loss per turn that they couldn't afford to pay. DOes anything affect that number? Maybe I had different terms. I usually set the % lower, but the term longer so that (as my new allies) they can become powerful and I can reap more benefits in the later part of the ...

ON the same subkect. Playing France in 1792 I managed to have Austria and Prussia sue for peace. I had 5,500 points for each treaty. then I was at war with Spain, and won, and again 5,500^points. Is this a maximum? Because with Spain I had ...

RE: Cossacks gotta go!!

Given the patchwork nature of Europe, a Cossack operating in the middle of a country might still be able to retreat in any direction which the computer would consider "towards home country." Perhaps if the command was more specific, like towards the capital?

RE: Population Question

<t> The only thing I can think of is the feudal levies that's costing me labor...<br/>

Right now I'm trying to save up for roads in Moscow which would cost 96 labor... but in 4 turns I haven't risen above 94.... <br/>

<t> When I took some provinces from Austria as Turkey... I noticed these provinces had trade routes still... So did it mean that I was now trading? Or how do you tell if a trade route is broken.<br/>

I think if I get provinces in a peace treaty, all the trade routes in those provinces should ...

IMHO, colonies should be worth a little more cash, a bit of NML, and a bit of glory - every month (and then the AI should value them more in treaties). Do others agree that this is a balance issue and should be addressed?

<t> On a related note... when you get free units, either from this militia thing that was mentioned or from feudalism, do they take labor, food, iron, etc,... I was saving up for something and I noticed my labor went down... could that be what causeed it?<br/>

<t> Here's my guess:<br/>
<br/>
It became independent. But Spain had troops there and since there was no garrison, Spain conquered it immediately.<br/>

Let me recount why I made that assumption. I was Sweden, at War with Denmark and Russia. Russia Surrendered and as part of the peace, I ...

<t> It might make a difference in some cases, but I might be mistaken because the attitude thing at the bottom is not always updated correctly. But suffice to say, when I wanted to form alliance as Russia - I put Turkey with Russia, they weren't interested. Then I put Russia with Turkey and they ...

Newbie Question: Release as Protectorate and What Happened in Poland

<t> Hi all,<br/>
<br/>
I appreciate any help you can give me with the following situation:<br/>
<br/>
I'm Russia and have formed a protectorate with Poland (it's huge - and a great victory). Their provinces are with the striped lines and I'm not able to develop them. Exactly as I expected as a ...
