RE: jdhalfrack

<t> I'm having a problem with JD's editor. I have compiled a csv file for the NFL 1968 season with player stats. I want to import that csv file into a 68 league file I created in MaxFB (so I don't have to enter each player's info individually into the MaxFB league db). <br/>

I load the MaxFB ...

Importing Historical Roster Info: How Do I?

<t> Inputting individual player info is very tedious.<br/>
<br/>
The website Pro football.com has all of the roster info (except uniform nos) needed to make FBMax historical rosters and that info can be displayed in csv or pre format.<br/>
<br/>
Is there a way to save that info so that one could ...

RE: 1968 NFL League Creation Questions

<t> Guys,<br/>
<br/>
Thanks for your replies regarding the 1968 rosters. In addition to your suggestions I found an FBPro file with the 1968 rosters.<br/>
<br/>
Is there a way to convert the FBPro file to FBMax format?<br/>

If not, do you have any suggestions for how I'd go about ...

1968 NFL League Creation Questions

I want to create a 1968 NFL league.

How do I find the rosters? Are there any Madden or FBPro rosters data files that can be modified for FBMax?

Thanks for your replies,

Black Powder: What Happened to It?

The Black Powder forum has disappeared. What happened to it? Is Matrix no longer to publish the game?

RE: Buttoned and Optics effect?

I recall reading somewhere (Carius? Glanz's Kursk?) that Russian tank commanders tended to button up at the first sign of the enemy while German tank commanders remained exposed much longer.

<t> Thanks. That fixed the problem. Is there a way to edit one of the game files so I don't need to change the display settings to run the game and then change the settings back when I'm finished with the game?<br/>

You also anticipated another question -- how to exit the game. Thanks for ...

RE: Game Editor

I believe that chevauleger or chevau-leger were both used. They mean "light horse." "Chevaux legers" means "light horses." Interestingly, many of the German States's light horse regiments used the French appelation "chevauleger" instead of the German "leicht pferde."

RE: Napoleonic Cavalry charges

<t> A lancer rgt (with lancers in the front rank) could and did break squares. The lance can outreach the bayonet. Once gaps appear in a square's side the cav can force their horses into the gaps and break up the square.<br/>

Another tactic was to have horse arty unlimber and grapeshot into ...

RE: Line vs Column

<t> The line had superior firepower to the attack column. The column was more easily maneuvered and less vulnerable to cav attack. Given the uncertainties of the battlefield the column was the better all-around formation.<br/>
