What is the best way to get Exp. for American Fighters?

I keep getting these squads with no planes or no pilots or both, any answers?

Playing as IJN and can't get minelayers to do there job.

so how would you make a squad of planes protect there home base?
Would you set it to escort 90% or 10%? is there anyway to have 100% of squad fly CAP not LRCAP?

you can only select a TF to protect if your in LRcap mode;but the manual says CAP is more effective then LRCAP for protecting a TF, what's up with that?

so if I want 70% to fly cap over TF I set to escort chose the TF and set CAP to 30%?

In the manual when talk about CAP do they mean escort or sweep, cause their is no CAP Just Long range CAP.

EX.What would you do to set 70% CAP for a TF?

Can someone explain to me how to upgrade aircraft. How do you do it? When do you do it?

If I place my Fighters on LRCAP and don't pick a specific target will they cover everything in range?

When I say I'm frustated I don't mean because I'm getting beat by the computer...I am frustated because of the depth of the game and the incomplete manual that comes with it!!!!!!!!!

When you set escort mission CAP level is that the number of planes left behind to defend and fly CAP?

Can someone tell me what %levels should be set for port,navel,airfield attacks and escort I see that Cap is always set to 100%!!
