Squads

Three questions 1)How come one turn I have 20 guys 20 planes in squad the nex turn 20 planes 0 guys? 2)Is there a list of Max planes you can Have in squad that will fly, after putting 2 B17 squads together half are now in reserve? 3)When squad is flying CAP at base will they cover ships unloading in same hex or just airstrikes on that base?

1) That usually happens when the parent unit of an ac squadron is located elsewhere. The parent unit drags the pilots with it.

2) B-17 squadrons have a max of 12 aircraft. Don't combine two squadrons totalling over the max. There are checks for excess aircraft in a squadron (the excess get transported back to replacements). It may take a few turns for this to happen. In the case of the organic CVE squadrons, I'm not sure it ever figures it out.

LBA (max squadron size)

Heavy bombers - 12
Medium bombers, Tac bombers - 16
Fighters - 24

3) They'll cover anything in the hex.
