RE: June 1942

Hi, Az

The dutch are putting up a masterfull defense. Better than i would have expected. What are you doing with the extra time?  What is your forward line going to be, think you could hold Nouemea?

RE: US carriers clash with IJN near Kavieng...

<t> Good news about Lex's air groups. What are you going to do with them?&nbsp; Darwin sounds like a good port of call to me if you can get them there. Otherwise they might be very usefull in training replacement USN pilots for you operating CVs. <br/>

Also good call IMHO on retiring ...

RE: Pilot training methods - acceptable or gamey?

My only sugestion would be that you limit indvidual pilots skills to no more than x% above thier current xp. So that the basline xp of the pilots actualy matters.

<t> Re: Bataan do you have an idea of your opponets AV there?&nbsp; If not might be worthwhile to do one bombardment just to get an idea.&nbsp; Its possible that all that is commited is a blocking force to prevent&nbsp;you from getting out. Effectivly turning bataan into a PoW camp.<br/>

<t> For your burma defence, I would sugest trying to build some forts on the dot base half way between Myitchina and Shweboo if you think you have time.&nbsp; Its decent defensive terain and like clark allows you to build Myitchina up to recive transports and sport a decent defensive air force.&nbsp ...

RE: aztez (a) vs Katsuragi (j) ...lessons learned.

<t> Yah let me clarify what i meant when&nbsp;I said short range subs. I meant your cruiser subs (norwhall, arognaut nataulus) and your Dolphin class subs as IIRC they have an endurance of 6k and still use mk 14s. No way would&nbsp;I ever advocate using your S-boats for anything other than anti ...

<t> As to your subs Az if possible i would think about sending some of your shorter range subs with decent cargo capcity to either darwin or sorebaja to start supply runs to bataan. If you want to extended the siege you will need supplys. <br/>

RE: aztez (a) vs Katsuragi (j) ...lessons learned.

Generaly if KB is nearby I stand down my duch AF. They will not do anything against KBs fighters and its better IMO to save what limited planes you do have as fighter bait when you want your bombers to acutaly get thru.

RE: aztez (a) vs Katsuragi (j) ...lessons learned.

Im not exactly sure but I seem to remember in my games that i could keep a couple of squadrons that were set to withdraw in service and the PP draw basicaly evened out my gain. In otherwrods my PP were stagnant.&nbsp; The real PP killer right now is ship withdrawl.

Yea its a little gamey what I think I would honestly do is for up two, groups of three AMc or so at both Batvia and Soerabaja and then just have them patrol between the two ports . . . local trafic [:'(]

<t> Honestly Az, I wouldnt disband the Banshee I'd pay the PP piper to keep them in play as long as they are there and there is enough A/C they pose a viable threat to even CAs. This means that you can effectivly maul an invasion (if you can get the escorts to cover them) within range.&nbsp; It will ...

RE: .02 worth on the DEI

<t> The thing is, it is quite possible to be training replacements from 12/8/41 and just throwing them in to the reserve pool. If you assume 4 months per green pilot to train to 70 how many possible replacements pilots can be trained in 2 years. I would say more than enough to cover the losses of a ...

If they are restricted use the to train pilots like crazy. If they arent i use them a bit more agreesivly knowing that they are somewhat "dissposable"
