first impressions

<t> The first thing I have to say is: GREAT!<br/>
Just did some playtest runs and I'm overwhelmed by the depth and options of this game, that surpasses the already good CoG in many ways. Used to play the old CivGenerals and always wished that this game would find a worthy sucessor somehow.<br/>

RE: Paradox Doomsday Direct Download

<t> The game surely has some nice ideas, being the best part of this whole series like EU or Victoria, most diplomatic and intelligence options. Nevertheless I realized again that I'm a turnbased player, thinking WEGO the best of possible options. Even with the ability to slow game down very much ...

funny irish decision

<t> Playing as a benevolent Napoleon right now (diffculty normal against A.I.) I decided to start slow, always leaving one of the Grand Armies in France for selfdefence only, moving the other around to keep some aggressive upstarts in check and trying to gain some ground mainly by diplomatic action ...

RE: third wave on PH

Many thanks for the helpful comments so far!
The historians I mentioned aimed mainly on more damage to the installations on PH, which in their opinion should have delayed the US war effort.
In my current battles I guess I'll keep KB closer to the Japanese defense perimeter.

third wave on PH

<t> Hope I dont ask an old question again[:D] - still doing my first testbattles in WITP.<br/>
Has anyone ever tried to force the third attack wave on PH in the initial attck, and if so, how and to which effect?<br/>
Historians often talk about it as the chance the Japanese missed in the early ...

<t> Can confirm with lots of the posts here on many games, especially the Combat Mission and the TotalWar series. IMHO lots of games have good aspects in some field of expertise while they often lack in others.<br/>
If I'd had to list my favourites I'd still do it with + and - in front.<br/>

RE: The Mighty Spanish A.I.

<t> I agree with you - mainly - in game balancing terms. Historically I still don't see troop moral as the main function of LoC, but the possibility to join up with other own troops , to keep enough freedom of movement to gain the initiative on the battlefield, last not least to choose the ...

<t> Hi!<br/>
I'm relatively new to this game too, but I can't understand where exactly your problem lies as I have been able to learn most of its functions just by trying. Ok, there are some features that are visible only at second glance, but if you follow the posts in this forum, you'll find them ...

Happened in my game in Austria with me playing France. I had seen some ghostly landship movement before in the Austrian regions and after I took Tyrolia from them and forced them into an alliance they simply forget some frigates there.

<t> Hi, I'm relatively new to this game and hope not to ask the same old questions again.<br/>
As far as I've playtested right now, I love it. The diplomacy options are by far the best I've seen in similar games. The detailed battles are very good too.<br/>
But to my question: How exactly do I ...
