RE: Multiple Levels of Minors Might Get Cut from PS 2006

I would gladly give up the expanded minor leagues if it meant you'd have time to implement a better commissioner, with full power over expansion and alignment. [:)]

RE: My closer

Well, it's just 2.1 innings so he has plenty of time to come around. Just threaten to send him to the minors, don't actually do it! [:D]

RE: got new computer-- how to move PureSim?

You have to install Windows programs, most cannot simply be copied. You will have to re-DL if you don't have your original install file. You can copy your saved leagues and mod over once it's installed.

Thanks again for the hard work. I was impressed with the results I got simming 1901-1919 with your previous version.

Just change the filename so it ends in .psa
Erase the .backup extension or just add .psa to the end.

Playing a 40 team league starting in 1901 with real and fictional players.<br/>
Simming everything right now to build up a league history. I'll take over a team when it gets into the modern era. I will probably sim most games and concentrate on the GM duties once I take over.<br/>

RE: Deadball Era XML v0.5

<t> I suppose it is a pretty big adjustemt for the AI to make, between the modern game and the deadball era. Every starter was expected to finish so they didn't throw as hard and the ball was as brown as mud by the end of the game. It's a good sign that PureSim is flexible enough to even come close ...

acetonic, take a look at the ballparks those players are playing in. I found that it wasn't sufficient for me to simply modify the .xml file or slider, I also had to set up realistic old-school ballparks, with their cavernous outfields. I had an .xml ...

There is a line drawn to show the flight path (optional) and a text play by play to tellyou the outcome. Players are represented by their names only.

RE: Deadball Era XML v0.5

<t> Thanks for this. I'll give it a shot.<br/>
I just simmed 1901-1917 and tried adjusting the sliders to get it closer to deadball era. I still had a fictional extra player show up in the league and hit 72 homers in 1915 with 50 homer seasons happening pretty regularly. That was with the homerun ...

Actually I was just looking into that this weekend and there is a quirk in the import code with players that have had previous significant major league experience and then, on the year being imported they had little or no playing time. Bonds ...

<r> In my second replay of the 2005 season, the Diamondbacks also made the playoffs although they got beat by the Mets in the first round. My Orioles also got in as wildcards but they were thrashed by the Anaheim-Los Angeles-California-Etc Angels. Boston got by Cleveland to beat the Cardinals in the ...

RE: Ballparks

I put mine in the pursim directory mods/parks/
You'll still have to individually assign them to each team so I don't know if it matters where you store them, the game won't load them automatically.
