Chosin Few campaign: evac cut short b/c of force morale broken? WTH?

<t> Longtime SPWAW fan just getting back in the game after several years away. I finally feel like I´m getting the hang of this game(largely by lurking in this forum) and decided to play something I felt would be a real challenge, a campaign that I was too intimidated to try to play way back when ...

RE: Question about Japanese mg nests

Hey KG, I heard another Marine saying from a USMC friend of mine recently:

"Leave a Marine alone in an empty room with no responsibilities other than three ball-bearings for an hour, and when you come back one will be lost, one will be broken and the third one will be eaten"

no problem, I just assumed that someone with as flippiant a posting and gaming style as TbT would not be big on formalities and could recognize a light-hearted calling out when he saw one. I´ll go and post there now.

Infantry assaults are where it is at. Use the smoke, flank it, and close assault it. Despite being engineers, engineers do not assault any better than regular infantry, so use whatever you have available if you must eliminate a bunker. <br ...

RE: Question about Japanese mg nests

Figure out what their fire arcs are, put a smokescreen in front of it to shield your troops from taking fire, and then.........bypass it.

If it´s a 360 degree HMG nest, this doesn´t work so good, but I just bypass pillboxes all the time.

The offer is on the table, but as I said, I can totally understand if TBT declines due to PBEM troubles.

I just need an answer, and if it is negative, no hard feelings and we can let this thread die.....

RE: Tactical Problem: Please give me some good advice

<t> I would have recommended a tactical withdrawal of the bulk of the forces until they could have linked up with and presented a unified front with the other element later in the game for a counterattack, covered by a massive smokescreen, but I guess it´s too late for that. <br/>

If the best you can manage with "Haigh tactics" is a measly draw against the AI, then you are hopeless.

If I was your commanding officer, I´d be ripping your chevrons off right about now.
