RE: Diplomacy preview from the dev team!

<t> Titi, without knowing in detail the original EiA, it makes some sense. In 1815-1830 Belgium was on the verge of the industrial revolution, with coal mining, textile industry, iron forges, steel mills aso, with a difference between Flanders (rural), Liege (industrial) and Luxemburg (forest ...

RE: 1792 AAR (some large pics)

Nice screenshots. Has the taste and flavour of a tabletop game. You could swear it's cardboard pieces moving. [:D]

RE: TO MAKERS: What's the point!?

<r> I do agree that the game loses <B><s></s>all <e></e></B> of his historical flavour the way it works now. It leads to the most absurd situations like the Turks entering Paris through Prussia.<br/>
And exactly for that reason I do NOT think the Europa Universalis was superficial nor flawed ...

RE: Waterloo??? Leipzig???

<t> I played the game when it was published, and still must have it somewhere. It's without the economical system of CoG. I remember it was a lot about giving movement orders and your subordinates not always following them. It was not so user friendly and had a lot of bugs or rather inconsistencies ...

You also need to remember that Matrix is the publisher not the developer. They may have some input but they are really just making it available for purchase. If you notice, all of their games are 'published' by Matrix but have different ...

RE: March Update

<r> In reply to St Cyr, and being in business myself, I must admit there is truth in it. In other business sectors you wouldn't get away with it. Luckily for Matrix: <br/>

RE: March update

<t> Oh please Tim, won't you tell the guy not to bother too much with the graphics. It's gameplay that counts. I agree to a comment I read somewhere: I hope the maps are not limited in size. It should be possible to play tiny battles (Lodi !) and large battles (Wagram !) alike. Perhaps in a ...

RE: March Update

<t> Well, at least beating the drum makes Matrix realise that a whole bunch of guys IS really waiting for this game.<br/>
<br/>
The story is even a lot older, because before Matrix took over, another company (I forgot the name) had already half developed it, until they were forced to stop for ...

RE: Comparison with Empires In Arms

<t> If I may add my ideas, I think in CoG they have tried to integrate a strategic game with an operational one. And I fear it may fall between two chairs. If you're a strategic player, you won't like to be held back by the detailed combats time and time again (the game will take ages) and you'll ...

RE: Appeasing the enemy: how?

Thanks treefrog. I had the feeling too that in detailed combat I was more succesful. But this means that the game will take ages to finish [&:]. Anyhow let's see what they make of the next patch.

Appeasing the enemy: how?

<r> I wouldn't say I'm an expert wargamer, but I've seen a lot of it. Now this is the first game that really gets me frustrated, because so often things happen and you don't have a clue why they happen (or not happen).<br/>
I started an 1805 campaign as France, applied all of Ralegh's tips and came ...
