RE: AI is "pimp slapping" me at Guadacanal

<r> I am impressed as well, for in my reading I see that 29 of the attacking aircraft carried the modified torpedos, of which as many as 21 hit their targets.&nbsp; Since the AI has managed 35+ torpedo hits each attack in my 3 Dec 7 runs, I am duly impressed&nbsp; <E>:)</E><br/>

RE: Help installing CHS on a Vista Machine Please

<t> I have a 64 bit machine and a 32 bit one running vista.&nbsp; The 64 bit doesn't like to run the modselect utility.&nbsp; What I did is a full regular game install on the 64 bit machine; then copied the entire game setup (including all CHS stuff - basically my entire WITP folder) from my 32 bit ...

RE: Is 4e night bombing gamey?

<t> mdiehl I believe that everything is unrealistic to you within this game unless it involves the Allies steamrolling the Axis at virtually every turn.<br/>

There are four different fighter bases involved here. Pardon me for not consulting a realism coach in deciding where or how to base my ...

RE: Is 4e night bombing gamey?

<r> We know this game handles air to air battles in a bloody manner.&nbsp; Using unescorted bombers in the face of significant fighter opposition is a way to lose a lot of bombers.<br/>
<br/>
In this case, Tom attacked this base the previous day.&nbsp; Because I have found him to be predictable, I ...

<t> As japanese I like to take about half of my subs and form them into mega mining task forces.&nbsp; 30 subs, including all dedicated minelaying subs, will drop a lot of eggs in a hex.<br/>

I spread them around and hit likely ports.&nbsp; I've killed many a ship with this tactic.<br/>

Here's what is amazing.&nbsp; My desktop is AMD64 X2 4600+, 4 GB Ram, dual nvidia 7900GS SLI cards... my new $700 Toshiba laptop SMOKES it in terms of starting and running WITP.&nbsp; Drives me crazy.

RE: Is 4e night bombing gamey?

<r> <QUOTE><s>[quote]</s>But, 100 bombers are only knocking out 4-6 planes on the ground and no pilots are lost so the raids are far less than devestating.

RE: Is 4e night bombing gamey?

Przemcio - fire bombing of an area target at night from 30,000+ feet (a la B29's over Japan) versus 100 B24's hitting a pinpoint airbase at 7K feet are two differnt animals, in my opinion.

No worries caliban.  In April of 07 my wife had a ruptured aneurysm and stroke.  I dropped every game I had going, including several WITP games.

Best of luck to you.

I need a good Jap for the 42 campaign

<t> I'm looking for an opponent for the CHS or Stock version of the 42A campaign. This campaign begins in May 1942 with the Japanese at their historical high water mark and continues throughout the rest of the game as WITP normally does.<br/>

I am currently playing 2 of the the CHS version ...

Well in my opinion the early appearance of the Tony certainly helps alleviate the emasculation of the Oscar in this game.&nbsp;
