Re: Delete unnecessary units in editor

AFAIK, you shouldn't ever remove anything. Especially air units, it can screw things up.

GOG has good deals, but the problem is finding them, unless you're looking for something specific. There's like 7000 titles on sale, and not many tools to look for specific types of games.

Re: Calculating Factory Production

The reason I'm confused and not fully getting this is in my editor I've seen guns that show -1 for a Build Limit yet on the production screen they say "ar:need". I've tested switching between -1 and 0 and they both result in the "ar:need".

Are you sure you're checking the same guns? Axis ...

Re: Quick Questions Thread

In editor in the ground elements tab you can click "edit ground types". This opens some values, one of which is "support need". What exactly does that mean?

My assumption is this value goes into calculating the support need for a unit. I tried making a change, and it looks like it takes ...

It hasn't progressed for a while now, and likely wont for a good while.

Historically there were just a handful of divisions there anyways.

Re: Editor script functions

This is for the first turn movements. It's somewhere in the manual, but basically you play the first turn moves, recording the "script" and then update it to the scenario, and it's what the AI will try to use.

Re: After 120 turns I have realizes I picked wrong scenario!:)

If you can handle the game editor, you may try this -

(a) rename your save game to xxx.scn and move it to the scenario folder.

(b) open the xxx.scn with the editor. Change the scenario name (MUST do this to avoid overwriting the orginal 1941 campaign). Save.

(c) on map, press v - you can ...

Re: Need help buying a new rig

SSD is a must these days, most games are starting to rely on them. It's more likely to be a significant bottleneck rather than RAM, processor or GPU. Or even internet connection, last time I installed a game on my slow drive it took longer to read/write than download the data.

Largely depends which country you're living in. For Americans, slickdeals has some pretty good offers to browse:

For example this one seems like pretty good deal:

And still my old setup, which played Crysis smoothly at HD resolution all maxed out, choked with Phoenix Point and HBS BATTLETECH. Now imagine newest Unreal Engine running a Total War game or equivalent at 4k resolution with ray tracing. Do you really want such a game any time soon?

Look up Total War series. And there are few more too.

I've played the Total War series quite extensively. The graphics are obviously better than previous entries, but that doesn't mean that other parts are worse off. Or worse off because ...

Re: I prefer older game types to new supposedly graphics greater

I don't really know which games you are talking about. There are hardly any strategy/wargames that would have an over-emphasis on graphics. In general, they are simply keeping up with the times (engines), and even so are usually a tad bit aged when compared to other games. First-person shooters seem ...

Re: Finland MOD V3.4

A couple of dumb questions if you don't mind.
The generic data affects every scenario right? If we edit it then it will be overwritten by any new patch.
The scenario data - which often calls on generic data - is what we would normally change, but there is now a way of preserving/locking any ...
