Re: Submarine Tutorial 2.1 graphics and briefing issues

Confirming this, the tutorial doesn't work at all with the Tiny beta, but following the instructions I do get a detection in stable - in the CZ. In Tiny I ran this in god mode as well as in normal and was getting no CZ detection in multiple attempts running shallow, just above and just under the ...

RE: What time is the battalion expected to arrive?

<t> I don't think it is a problem per se. As I understand it, you give the unit an order, it then translates that order into what it's going to do. For example you could give it a move with "safest" and it will then figure out the safest route and set itself to move there. The information about how ...

RE: What a shame and very upset

<t> Sorry about the rant, Wodin, but if no one else is going to say it, I will. I get that you're disappointed with the price of the game, I really do, it is quite expensive. But posting multiple posts about how it's expensive and you're not going to get it, and even dedicating a thread to that fact ...

A rule of thumb in the military life is that everything takes one hour, so I would guess that its a suitable time increment. The order delay could be simulated furthrer with even larger time increments. <br/>

RE: Annoying combat issue

<t> Hi Niels,<br/>
<br/>
Thanks for getting back so quickly! Yeah. I'm not complaining about the transit attacks, just saying I wouldn't expect smaller ships to attack larger ones so regularly. I can't recall the exact ship and situation, as I tend to play the combat sequences quite fast, but at ...

Annoying combat issue

<t> I bought the game yesterday and have been enjoying it so far except for this one annoying issue. Once I advanced enough to acquire a corvette, I still sometimes am attacked by fighters when in transit. Now, although this doesn't make much sense, I wouldn't be bothered except for the following ...

<r> Hi Good Guy,<br/>
<br/>
Firstly, thanks for the PDF, it is quite an interesting read.<br/>
<br/>
Now, I don't disagree that a modern MBT CAN hit a target out to 4000m, rather that it is not quite the effective range of engagement. Anyway, the point was more about the Vickers lacking optics ...

How could that be anywhere near effective fire range? Even if the rounds could reach that range, what manner of optics did the crews regularly ...

RE: BFTB (Mini-Guide): Material TBD

<r> Ha ha, this is great. The more this engine progresses, the more Dave manages to factor in additional real life issues, and the less predictable it becomes. "Needs PhDs to optimise" == favours the natural commander who feels the ebb and flow rather than the formulaic (sp?) one. Now if only I was ...

<r> Woo hoo, first vote! I vote you get cracking on the mini-AAR (as if your previous 1000-post-long AAR threads were mini <E>:)</E>). We can always download the table, and, heck, since you posted about doing the mini-AAR, I've been checking in with OCD-like determination to get to read it.<br ...

I recently had the same problem with Iraklion as the poster above and also with TAD. Eddy Stercxe looked at it for quite a while and was able to reproduce on Vista. He wrote to me that Dave will be looking at this after the holidays and also found a workaround that I was ...

That's cool, no rush at all. In fact, from my point of view at least, it is only one scen out of many, and not worth your time if it is for my sake. Can't wait for BFTB, I know it will be awesome, so definitely please don't take away from your BFTB time for this.

Cheers

Hi, just tried it again and it crashed. Some more info: I played as axis, and chose the favour axis reinf schedule. Then I input no orders and ran it at top speed.

<t> Yes to both. I always had it running with XP compat mode and am able to run other scenarios. I'm pretty sure it's a data error cause i tried it quite a few times and it crashes at exactly D30800 each time i try. I've been able to run other scenarios with no issue. For example I figured i'd run ...

Yes I am. In fact I uninstalled and then reinstalled and patched and ran the scenario at high speed without putting in too many commands just to see if it would crash. It did, at exactly D3 0800.<br/>

CTD at D3 08:00 sharp - Iraklion Campaign

Hi,

Playing the Iraklion Historical Campaign, I get a CTD consistently at 8:00 on D3. This is with v2 of the scenario and on Vista. Save games are available.

<t> Hey Noakesy, <br/>

Can't quite answer the legal part of the question, except to say that it would seem unfair to force you to buy another copy to play with your son in the same house (I'm assuming he doesn't have his own household). Technically though, you do not need the CD to play at ...
