RE: Release Candidate 3

<r> We noticed the issue with the WP's in the XIBL awhile back. Below is what I observed and posted in their forum<br/>

<QUOTE><s>[quote]</s>
After looking at the leaders in WP for past seasons, it appears to me that its just some kind of display issue. Looking at Ronald Packard, we have: <br ...

I love the almost surreal visuals and colors on some of them, like the open gate. Beautiful !

RE: 1.84 RC2 (Speed Boost)

<r> I just imported and simmed the 1903 season. I havent delved into the numbers yet, but had a couple of observations.<br/>
<br/>
The sim didnt seem all that much faster to me. It could just be my impatience though <E>:)</E> It might have been a little faster than before to me. This was in fast ...

Ok I did have a complete backup of the database, but it still wont import in the game. I get a "runtime error 3021 No current record" error. Grrrrrr

RE: LahmanPS Request

<t> LOL I thought I did, and I kind of do, but it didnt work when importing for some reason. I didnt backup the entire database, only the tables that are modified within the database (master, batting, fielding, pitching). When I copied those tables into the database and tried to start a league, it ...

LahmanPS Request

<t> Is there any chance we can get the lahmanps.mdb file to not be installed with an update unless something in the file actually changes ? I just upgraded from 1.80 to 1.84 beta3 and had my custom database wiped out again by the install. <br/>
<br/>
Mental note to self: make a copy of the ...

RE: trading of player during the season

<t> Player affinity will increase the chance that a player lands on / stays on the team/s he did in real life, but is definitely not a guaranteed thing. The AI will never mimick real life exactly. The only way to get real trades/rosters, etc even with player affinity turned on, is to do all of the ...

RE: Winning is Cool, but...

<t> Email wouldnt work I dont think. The file is 124 MB zipped up. Also its modified specifically for my usual league setup start date of 1903. I use the .CSV version for my OOTP historical league, so any players starting before 1903 have had their record removed from the master table because that ...

RE: Winning is Cool, but...

<t> What do you mean it didnt do anything? It links to the changes they made to the .CSV files (which Ive converted to a .mdb file in the PureSim format). I could try and get the ok from Spritze and/or Garlon to upload it to PadresFan's site. One thing Id have to rework is that I usually start my ...

RE: Winning is Cool, but...

<r> Here is what Dimaggio's real life stats look like for the 1939 import. They are different because they are neutralized (which could pose a problem with the new 1.84 feature of career stats importing with a player for leaderboards etc.....hmmm....). Notice the war years have estimated data, so ...

RE: Winning is Cool, but...

<r> Ive taken a version of the Garlon/Spritz OOTP database and converted it for use with PureSim. This database cleans up and adds a gazillion things to the vanilla lahman database. Basically its a neutralized stats database with calculated data for missing things like CS, K's, and a huge thing for ...

Thats awesome! I always hated that starting in 1903 players like Cy Young would start with no career stats, and the leaderboards would start out empty. This is one of my most wanted features for sure !

RE: Too Many Stolen Bases?

<t> Im on the "too many SB's" side of the fence as far as my historical league, which is still in the deadball era. One of the problems is that there are way too few CS's. In a few test runs of the league before getting going, I would routinely see players with around 80+ SB's when in real life they ...

<t> The names are stored in two seperate tables inside "tables.dat" which can be open with Access. There is a table for first names and a table for last names. Ive edited the "last" table to show an * in front of fictional players names for my historical association. Its alot cleaner to me to see a ...
