Re: Sailing in harms way: InHarmsWay (J) vs Andav (A) Scen2

Great AAR!

I reckon you got very lucky his first strike hit your BBs rather than the KB, but in turn I think he got lucky only losing one CV to your alpha strike at this point in the war. Plus being very close to port. The battlefield "terrain" definitely helped him here...

Hard to characterize ...

<r> Hoping against hope here that I can get this old favourite up and running!<br/>

I have downloaded the installer and v1.02 patch, and it all appears to run successfully. I have put in my serial number, set the app to Windows X compatibility mode, & set to reduced colors. The app launches ...

Usually I wouldn't post something like this ... I'm not a spelling snob or anything. But it's in the actual title of your AAR. So, with reluctance, here goes: "in tatters" means "shredded"; "in taters" means "inside potatoes".

<t> Congrats on a great AAR! Very well presented indeed - and fascinating how closely your game hewed to history at many points.<br/>
<br/>
And commiserations on your loss. No doubt with a better knowledge of the game mechanics, you can optimise a few things and secure a victory. <br/>

I can picture it pulling in to "port" - diesels dead, running on two battery cells, trailing oil, maybe forward torpedo compartment completely flooded, holes in the CT, decking smashed up and hull warped and dented in multiple places... flag flying proudly

<t> Ouch - hard results for you, but I suppose the next day will really tell. Could be that he's only got Hiryu and 1-2 CVLs with functional flight decks, with some cripples of his own to worry about. Will be interesting to see whether he turns tail as well, or goes for your cripples. <br/>

Store filter broken

<t> Hi Matrix - on the store, I am trying to use the "advanced filter" to show only games that play on Mac. Unfortunately, the filter returns only the Order of Battle games, nothing else. When I click on some individual games, it still shows that they are playable on mac. (eg Battle Academy). But ...

Just wanted to add my thanks and admiration to you and your opponent for a great AAR. I don't know what I can find to replace it in my morning coffee reading routine, nestled right between the NY Times and wargamer.com.

Cheers

You either misinterpreted the point of my post or purposely chose a deflecting answer.

Wow. You made a suggestion / comment in a new AAR thread. The person writing the AAR responded courteously. And you come back with this? Dude...

mm, dude... you're spending a lot of electrons arguing that your strategy would have been better in somebody else's game. It's starting to sound like you don't have enough to do. Go learn to play the clarinet or something.

I love the image of WW2 paratroopers dropping in daylight on to a defended coral atoll! Works well enough in game... but irl it would be like half dead because they dropped into the lagoon, and the other half dead in the air before their feet even touch the ground!

<t> Your AAR is spookily close to CanoeRebel's Walmart on Ice AAR. The sequence of invasions is almost exactly the same, right down to the Tjepoe invasion with inland airdrop to cut the rail line to Soerabaja, etc. And the enemy response is very similar as well - KB hovering at the fringes looking ...
