Where have you gone Wanderinghead?

Hi. You gave me such helpful advice on how to modify the scenerios designated by years, I'm hoping you can help with my inquiry from awhile back asking how to modify the Axis Blitz scenerio. As it also starts in 1939, could it be referenced by something like "39AB" or "AB39"? Thanks, 32shaw

How to modify Axis Blitz scenerio?

<t> How can I modify the regions set up in the Axis Blitz scenerio? As that scenerio starts in 1939 I tried using "goldregions39.txt", but that didn't work. Using "goldunitdata39.txt" did allow me to modify the beginning attack, evasion, etc unit levels at the start of the Axis Blitz scenerio, so I ...

Why is French Fleet frozen?

I understand why the french land forces are frozen in southern France at the start of the 1939 scenerio, but why are the French naval forces frozen there? Regardless of what the French may have done historically, wouldn't it make more sense for their fleet to go to sea?

RE: Can't find folders to modify game

<t> Thanks a lot, that worked. I couldn't figure out, though, how to modify a unit's levels (e.g I wanted to lower the land attack value of the WA heavy bombers in the East vs West scenerio so I could play the scenerio without the A Bomb. Can you help me here?<br/>

RE: Where can I find patches to download?

<t> Thanks, that was easy. I downloaded the two Matrix patches, but not the two dated December 21st from other companies. Should I download those two also? Is there a description of what each patch involves somewhere? I'll see if I can find that info on my own, but if there's an arcane way of doing ...

PBEM without advanced supply

<t> Hi. I've played vs the AI quite a bit and would like to try playing human opponents. As I've never used the advanced supply rule, I'm wondering if anyone would like to play me without using that rule. I'd be interested in playing either the Total War scenerio or the East vs West scenerio and I ...

In playing PBEM games, do people always/usually/sometimes/rarely/never use the advanced supply and fog of war rules?&nbsp; And which scenerios are typically played?&nbsp; How do you determine who plays which side?&nbsp; 32shaw

RE: Can't find folders to modify game

Okay.&nbsp; When I did my windows search, I searched for the file "wawgoldregionsX.txt." in the "a World Divided" folder.&nbsp; Do I need to preface that with something?&nbsp; Should I search for "dat.wawgoldregionsX.txt."?&nbsp; Thanks.

Poor USA AI vs Japan

<t> I hate to dis a great game, but I really think some work needs to be done on the WA AI vs Japan. In several games when I've played the Axis side vs the AI for Russia and the Western Allies, I've found that the AI lets a massive combined fleet of carriers with air fleets, heavy fleets and light ...

Can't find folders to modify game

I've tried several times to locate the wawgoldregionsX.txt folder through my windows "search" process, but keep coming up with no results. Any advice? I downloaded via the net, if that makes any difference. Thanks. 32shaw

RE: re: Carrier planes that don't attack

<t> Good thought, Jan, but I don't think that can be the answer. As I said earlier, the overall attack consisted of nine WA CAF's vs 4 Japanese carrier fleets, 4 Japanese CAF's and one Japanese supply fleet. From my experience with WAW, I would have expected the WA planes to be used in both air to ...

Poor Japanese AI strategy and tactics

<t> I've repeatedly found that the AI's strategy and tactics for Japan's conduct of naval warfare are illogical and lead to an easy WA victory over Japan. In particular, the AI seems to fail to recognize the potential danger of carrier air fleet attacks by the WA on its next game turn. Is there a ...

re: Carrier planes that don't attack

<t> I continue to get strange combat results. One problem has been with Western Ally carrier planes which, although launched as part of a multiple plane attack against Japanese fleets and Japanese carrier planes, fail to take part in some, or all, of the air to air, or air to ship, combat expected ...

No Victory Point Screen

<t> I think a problem with the Strategic Map Screen may be preventing me from getting a Victory Point screen and continuing my current game with an East vs West war. Although neither Germany nor Japan have any units or controlled regions, on the far right of the Strategic Map screen, on the line for ...

RE: Can WA start was vs Soviets?

<t> I'm now into 1947 and still can't attack the Soviets. Even after I clicked off the No Automatic Victory option, no Victory Point screen has come up and Germany and Japan keep getting game turns, even though they have no units or areas under their control. This is frustrating, as my main reason ...

RE: Can WA start war vs Soviets?

No, that's not the problem. Neither Germany nor Japan control any regions. I've just tried switching off the No Automatic Victory option on my current game to see if that change will cause a victory screen to come up at some point. Otherwise, I'm stumped. Any other ideas?
