<r> The end of the railway line NW of Stockholm is <B><s></s>Mora<e></e></B> and the crossroad to the north is located at the city of <B><s></s>Östersund<e></e></B>. In fact the railway line from Gällivare/Storuman ends at Mora (in Swedish called Inlandsbanan) and it was finished in ...

RE: MWiF Map Review - India & Burma

OK, I only had a map with the borders of today and probably they have changed somewhat since the 1940s. I think Plain Ian's proposal is good.

<r> Here is another suggestion for the Iraq-Kuwaiti border which I think resembles the real border as much as possible. Just two hex changes compared to the latest map (marked with dotted lines). I would also propose two hex changes to the Trans-Jordan eastern border on Saudi-Arabia and Iraq. Trans ...

<r> <QUOTE><s>
</s>By the way, what in your opinion is the right english exonym for Hango ? Hango (as you write), or Hanko as I wrote on the map.<br/>
Wikipedia (<URL url="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hanko">http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hanko</URL>) says that Hango is the Swedish spelling and ...

RE: Modifications to MWiF Scandinavia Map portion

<t> To continue with the perhaps trivial issue of name spelling I can add that correct Finnish (and English) spelling of Finnish minor port "Hankø" is Hanko (Swedish spelling is Hangö).<br/>
<br/>
Another name that could be questioned is Vyborg that is the Russian name for Finnish minor port ...

<r> A bit too late in the process probably... but shouldn't the Algerian city of Oran be a city in MWiF. Population in 1936 totalled about 195k. Maybe even the city of Constantine deserves to be included with a population of 107k in 1936 and also an important HQ for the Allies during the desert war ...

RE: Mother Russia

<r> I have followed the discussion about Konstantinovsk and done some searches on the internet. It is very hard to get any information about the port of Konstantinovsk but it seems to have been founded in 1853 like both Sovetskaya Gavan (Imperatorskaya Gavan before 1922) and Vanino. On the russian ...

As I have understood the naming convention is English names when availaible (for example Gothenburg instead of Göteborg) and local names when no English names are available.

<t> Looks very nice!<br/>

I really like that the Finnish port Hanko is now part of the Finnish Borderlands as it was historically. The correct Finnish spelling is Hanko (not the Norwegian letter Ø).<br/>

<r> A remark on Morroco minor country names:<br/>
<br/>
Spanish Morocco would be a more correct name for Er Rif (Sp). Spanish Morocco was the official name for the colony (1912-1956).<br/>

The Rif Republic existed only a couple of years during the 1920s before Spanish and French forces ...
