RE: Battles Need A Lot Of Work A lot

I find it a big problem. First if I create a fleet usually its disbanded after a while, and if I manage to send it somewhere most of the fleet is usually out of fuel before it reaches the intended pirates it will counter.

When do you get staff?

<t> In my oppinion staff in hq is the most single handed strongest and most vital concept to have right as it is such a bonus for the rest of your land forces. Do you usually try to get staff early in a battle so they can get bonus xp from training that again will give all your other troops more ...

RE: Changing the att/loss% of units. How is this done?

<t> What are people uses for the retreat % ?? For me I usually keep my staff at 5% so if they ever are attacked they will get an organized retreat.. &nbsp; And important to hold places are ofcourse 100%! Also if you are unsure if you want to commit to a fighter attack gamble (Dont know what the ...

RE: When would you use the infantery gun?

<t> Reviving this thread from the dead as I am playing again. I found a use for the infantery gun, its 100 x 2 attacks and 50% bonus vs urban is very good when you counter in the bonus from experience and staff. Usually around 50% or more. you will have attacks around 300 points that will score a ...

RE: Congratulations!

Yeah this game is great. I found the first games the ai kicked my butt (i was union) until i started to really care about training my militia into infantery and watching for spotted units vs attacking with artillery... but yeah the ai is very good in this game!

bug with amphibious move

Hey there is a small bug with amphibious move in my game. If i send units back say a general and 2 infantery instead of getting 8 more amphibious attack points on my transporter i get 16.. so i can keep sending back units to increase my ability to attack with more units.

RE: Continous Line or more Powerful Units

<t> Yup best of both worlds. And as said earlier you can just mass a lot of smaller unitsd and spearhead a formation and flank around it. Point is smaller units can be both used for long elastic defences and focused pushes. So you got the best of both worlds. And the more flanking bonuses you get ...

RE: Continous Line or more Powerful Units

continuous lines hands down wins. There is only one exeption, the square you MUST capture but only can attack from 1 or 2 sides you mass up to attack. But you can just as well attack with a lot of smaller units than 1 big unit from that 1 square.

Another idea would be to keep flak around.<br/>

RE: tech in ladder games

<t> I dont think the cost of teching generally is worth it for such a short game. If I where to buy a tech it would be either: A)Light tank II (20PP) or B) -Fighter II(20PP) depending on how the game was going along. Id rather have 3-4-5 hq's and more small unit numbers. I sometimes consider using ...

You will have to watch the history log during your turn and also watch the supply level of your units carefully. Yes.

RE: When would you use the infantery gun?

<r> Okay so I think we have finaly pieced together the use for the infantery gun. Its when you are expecting enemy stacks with anti tank stuff (AT gun or bazooka guys). Thats the most convincing argument I have heard so far. I still think they are meh but thats my own oppinion. <E>:)</E> I do see ...

RE: Airstrike: Do fighters escort?

I have had interceptors with 0 ap left intercept so yes it is based on readiness. Its still risky if you have no clue what your enemy got of airplanes, if he hits you with 4 fighters vs your 1 your screwed..&nbsp; (for example.)

RE: Question about movement cost, glitch?

Foot road move 30 foot mountain move = 40 : total 70. Action points left 77. The only reason I can see is if readiness affects how much action points it costs to move.

Edited to account for the fact that its low mountains not high mountains (40 move not 50)

<r> You love your scouts <E>:)</E>&nbsp; but hmm good question. If I understand you correct you mean like a scout moving by a unit then the unit gaining free path to supply by&nbsp; its own zone of control some time of the start of the turn. Very interesting what comes first, zoc border push or ...

As long as its under 100 people in the ladder i would keep it open. 100+ the rules system starts working. (Okay that was an arbitary number I have no idea how many would be needed but it doesnt really work with the number of people we have now.)

Herode2 on defence I would rather have an Antitank gun, its prett good vs infantery too and just as costly. (and much more deadly vs tanks.) But yeah I guess thats somewhat an argument for it.

<t> The battle for Narvik. Especially the fighting at bjoernefjell.
