RE: Maskirovka

There are many die rolls in each combat - if you wish, consider favorable rolls for the Soviets to be the result of maskirovka.

RE: Potential House Rules for More Historical Play

<t> Your Scandinavian house rule seems like an awful lot of work to stop an initial ploy (deployment to take Murmansk initially) that should be self-correcting. The ploy should require the Finnish HQ-I up there or sea supply - sea supply you can stop with one Commonwealth cruiser. Or stack one setup ...

RE: Vorbestellungen vorübergehend gestoppt

<t> Preordered. First of all, the credit card expiration date entry process was weird and I almost gave up. But it worked after I took it real slow, like molasses in winter. Which is a movie reference.<br/>
<br/>
Secondly, it was a very cruel process, because it ended with a DOWNLOAD button. Not ...

RE: Tactical Component: Idea...Steel Panthers III or IV

<t> Who plays tactical? I think we should have a first person shooter element, where the player can join a unit and play it out. We should track every cartridge, bullet type, ration, nationality of every individual involved (so the language is correct). Call of Duty, Battlefield, one of those. Medal ...

I understand they plan to track individual soldiers, energetics by the gram, metal deformation and wave height in centimeters. This is meant to be funny, but I may be right...

Wow. Is Morvael being paid? Because he should be - this looks like a different game (a better game). Outstanding work.

RE: Assualt vs Blitz

<r> Just to chime in, the RAC should have a comma after the the first defender, since there are two rule clauses:<br/>
Either the attacker has more ARM and HQ-A units than the defender<B><s></s>,<e></e></B> or<br/>
[the attacker has more] MECH units than the defender and the defender has no ...

RE: Favourite WiF/MWiF moment?

<t> Not WiF but WiF/DoDIII, so with a 1936 start and far more control over the DoW force mix. The initial DoW caught significant RN in various ports... As I said the timing was perfect - at sea RN surprised in clear weather, rest in port and vulnerable. In clear weather a/c in the same seabox help a ...

RE: Favourite WiF/MWiF moment?

<t> WiF is great for creating moments that feel real, like epic naval battles in the Pacific, or massive air to air battles over a critical hex where every cleared bomber will make a difference.<br/>
<br/>
However, the super combined impulse has the greatest possible drama. I was Germany in a WiF ...

<t> Each of those was 1700+ german panzers on attack with plenty of Panthers (Manstein had Tigers for sure) supported by big time combat engineering. And more artillery than the defenders. Almost the irresistable force.<br/>

Cater Question

<t> I am having a great time with SCWW2iE - capable AI is always a pleasure and thank you for the entertaining scripts. Is this version being expanded to the full world conflict, or has the previous system been updated to WW2iE status (AI, build list, etc.)? Could you compare AoD for example to ...

Please bump the picture of that clown off of this thread - it makes me not want to view this AAR which would be a shame as it is an excellent (and informative) AAR.

RE: DOD - what would it take???

<t> I have played DoDIII/WiF many, many times. The map is of course in MWiF. Most of the counters are in MWiF. The political system is not present at all - this is a problem. But the biggest problem is DoD is a three-sided game (Fascists vs Democrats vs Communists) and WiF and MWiF are a two-sided ...

<t> Lille is a fortress with the 2d10 system - continue to make the Germans pay to take it (once Lille goes Paris is next, as it is all armor country beyond Paris). You want the full two corps and a gun/div in there if you can afford it (an engineer is a terror there) - hard to clear with an assault ...

RE: A global wat - 2

<t> Out of curiosity, what was the best attack you could have made (as the French) against the lone PARA in the rainy woods - 3:1 in the rain can't be the best? I would suggest two max French stacks outside Brussels, and then what can you do against the PARA, because occupying those hexes and the ...
