RE: Become abit obsessed with WH40K

<t> I played RPG's in my youth and never bought into the money pit that is miniature wargaming, but I LOVE the W40k fluff. I started with the Eisenhorn omnibus last year and became an addict. I have since read the Ravenor omnibus, Pariah, the entire Gaunt's Ghost saga, Titanicus (Titans!), Double ...

System Requirements

<t> I see the recommended system requirements indicate that best performance will be obtained with a dedicated video card. I currently have a two year old Gateway laptop with an Intel HD 3000 integrated graphics chip. What kind of game play experience can I expect with my laptop? If the laptop is ...

RE: Poland 1939 Campaign Difficulty

Funny, after posting this I just got my first decisive.&nbsp; Bought a 105 and another 109.&nbsp; Scratched by with one turn left.&nbsp; This game is going to be much more of a challenge than PG2.&nbsp;

Poland 1939 Campaign Difficulty

Yikes. Getting my arse handed to me on Colonel. Haven't figured out how to get a Decisive yet. Marginal only and I am only getting that by massive replacements. Makes Madrid on PG2 look easy by way of comparison.

Scale

<t> I never played PG, but I played PG2 to death. I am finding this game to be quite a gem and very addictive. Great Job! <br/>
<br/>
I have a question concerning scale. When I played PG2 scale seemed to be battalions. As such, I liked to play through the main campaign building an entire division ...

RE: Courtesy of Amazon, a "Free" Game!

<t> The only real competitor at this scale (squads and individual vehicles) would be the CC series of games.&nbsp; Neither SB or CC has what I would call a modern interface or graphics, but both provide a good simulation of tactical warfare at the platoon level.&nbsp; The main difference would be ...

RE: Courtesy of Amazon, a "Free" Game!

I decided to switch to SB: Winter War.&nbsp; It comes with Trotter's book on the subject for free, and I must confess this is one part of the war I know little about, but also wanted to.&nbsp; Both should ship tomorrow.

<t> Thanks, guys.&nbsp; <br/>
&nbsp;<br/>
I'm a WWII junkie.&nbsp; In regards to HTTR vs. CotA it's definitely an "interest" thing; I simply like Market Garden better than the Balkans.&nbsp; Now, if they move that a bit farther south and did NA I would be on board in a second.&nbsp; Still, as CotA ...

Courtesy of Amazon, a "Free" Game!

<r> Having been such a good customer of Amazon lately, I received a $25.00 reward certificate in the mail yesterday. I did a great deal of research for a couple of wargames, and decided on the following:<br/>

RE: New Guns of August Screenshots

Just to be clear, you guys are saying that as this is a fixed resolution game, and you have say, a 24" widescreen monitor, then this game will be in a small window?&nbsp; No scaling at all to fill the screen???&nbsp;

RE: Looks like the Patch is out - first impressions?

<t> To be fair, comparing SC2 to C:EAW is hard to do without the realization that SC2 is on version 1.06, and is about to enter it's third generation of game overhaul.&nbsp; C:EAW is just a baby by comparison.&nbsp; Give it time.&nbsp; I think the developers are listening to our issues, and to ...

RE: Commander SUCKS!!!!!!!!!!!

<t> My main point&nbsp;was not that there are tons of grandmasters running around; only that it takes a supercomputer to compete with one.&nbsp;&nbsp;The chess comparison put&nbsp;forth by Rich at HPS was only to&nbsp;contrast it's ease of design and&nbsp;play with something as complex as a&nbsp ...
