Re: The World at War ELO Tournament

I agree with Umeu. All the players should start with the same number of points.

New game. Allied opponent wanted.

Looking for an Allied opponent for a new game. It won't be a fast game, 3 to 6 turns per week, depending on work and holidays. Interested commanders, please email me. Race to Victory scenario.

Taifun (Axis) against DmitryN (Allies).
Allies win. Italy succumbed in the summer of 1941. The Japanese forces are unable to capture the Chinese capital.

The cause of the naval units deploying at the end of the turn rather than when they should has been identified and we'll get it fixed, thanks for mentioning it.

Do you have any idea when this major issue will be resolved?
I have halted my two ongoing games until the Pearl Harbor ...

The Soviet Baltic Fleet also appears at the end of the German turn during Barbarossa, escaping destruction.

Taifun (Axis) vs Cpuncher (Allies).
The game ends prematurely in the summer of 1943 with a draw.
Cpuncher's daily work obligations interfered with the natural pace of the game.

I agree, the rankings should be refreshed with "active" players.

It is indeed random; it can even be delayed until 1942.

I hope you are working on a great AAR against DmitryN!

Re: Allied supply in the Caucasus

Iraq is in UK hands, Persia is Soviet, and Afghanistan is Indian. I think he is using at least 5/6 HQ to supply the British and Indian HQs, and that he implemented a chain of HQs from Afghanistan and Iraq, but how exactly this is working is unknown to me.

Are Pearl Harbor and San Diego part of the Axis? Any of these in Japanese hands will stop the flow through Vladivostok.

Sweden surrender

I conducted several simulations in HOTSEAT attacking Sweden. In all of them, once the capital, Stockholm, was captured, Sweden would surrender even if it hadn't lost any units, neither naval nor land. In our game, I performed the same actions, captured Stockholm, but Sweden did not surrender. This ...

Allied supply in the Caucasus

Incredible but true. My opponent in our current game has managed to move significant amounts of allied units through Iran and the Caucasus and keep them well supplied to Rostov. This strategy has completely dismantled the German plan in Russia. After losing Baku and all the oil wells, my opponent ...
