RE: Couple destroyer questions.

<r> Yeah I swear by the "slide and strafe" technique. Depending on the ship, a few carefully aimed beam blasts can cripple an enemy capitol ship in a few seconds. In a medium range, head on, 1 on 1 attack, yes it is often best to hit the PDS sysems to open the way for your torpedoes but if the enemy ...

RE: Tricks & Workarounds

When attempting to transfer to another ship/squadron, you need to click the bullets on the left side of the list to expand the trees out and choose a destination for the xfer. Took me quite a while to figure this one out..

RE: little help

Try unplugging your joystick. You could also calibrate it but I have noticed most modern joysticks never stay zeroed out for long (except the high dollar ones).

RE: starship operation questions

<t> To follow a ship thats jumped, your pretty much going to have to guess at it. Check the other systems in your nav map and see if it has been picked up by other friendly ships elsewhere before you jump. You can make an educated guess when you take a minute to narrow your choices.<br/>

RE: Mouse Control Configuration

I had this problem as well and had to resort to using the KB for aptmospheric combat. The J key only effects the keyboard controlls and as far as I know there isnt an option for changing the mouse to pitch and roll mode. Perhaps this can be done in the .ini or something?

<t> There is a certian range you must be within to get a target lock. I usually fly capital ships and this range is about 100KM depending on the ecom level of the target. Damage to your sensor systems may cut this range down quite a bit more. <br/>

<t> I dont think the coverage areas are listed anywhere. Really the best way to learn a ships coverage is just to watch closely as the point defence batteries fire on enemy targets. You can see the turrets turn and elivate while fireing to follow targets as they move or your ship changes orientation ...

RE: More Cap ship tactics.

Each ship will have a differant PDB angles. The Devestator class Cruisers for instance have NO PDB coverage on the ventral surface. They do however have triple coverage at the stern and decient coverage in all low-elevation directions. The extreme dorsal angles are also completely uncovered..

<t> Run..&nbsp; Keep an eye on your navigation window for fighters heading your way. When you see some, set a course in the opposite direction and hit the autoflight. If you find yourself being fired on, hit the quantum drive and get away. Theres really no way to win against a swarm of anti-ship ...

<t> One pitfall to watch out for; dont get overzealous with your fighter. When it looks like your about to get in over your head, turn tail and bring the fighter home. Your not going to be able to wipe out the enemy fleet in one mission with a fighter (a big mean cruiser is another story tho..[:D ...
