<r> GD,<br/>

You make an excellent point about the pioneer assets, especially in German battalions and regiments. In the article at the following link, it is noted that engineers organic to combat units belonged to the branch of the parent unit (i.e. the men in an infantry regiment's ...

RE: Dividing units

<t> One problem is the 2000-unit per side limit in TOAW. The solution - increase the number of unit slots (and formations, too). With TOAWIII we got events increased from 500 to 1000. Why can't we have more units and formations in a future patch/version?<br/>

RE: Features for ToaW 4

<t> How about "Mechanical Attrition" on an "equipment type" basis? For example, the first German Tiger and Panther tanks were rushed into service and often suffered mechanical breakdowns before they could even entered a battle. Another example would be "old" model tanks that are "worn out" (over ...

RE: Captured Weapons ToaW 4

I'd settle for more unit and formation slots.&nbsp; We got more events with TOAW III; how's 'bout more units and formations?

RE: OT: Germany's Infantry Mobilization

<t> Best info I've seen on the mobilization waves used by Germany prior to and during WWII is by Dr. Niehorster (SP?).&nbsp; There's a link to his OOB's at orbat.com.&nbsp; You'll find a "pictogram" TO&E for the Infantry divisions of each "Welle" (wave) and a list of all the divisions supposedly ...

RE: Any chance of a "Strategic Art of War"?

Hey SMK, did you ever hear of a game called "Hearts of Iron"?&nbsp; I played it (through 3 versions) up until about a year ago.&nbsp; Not as much "detail" as in TOAW.&nbsp; I think there's a WIKI on the game.

RE: WWII-Db V1.2 (Now for Toaw III)

<t> Hey g d, I've seen other references in this forum to the "transport problem". I think I understand the probable effect on transport asset sharing and seem to recall that there's something in the "engine" that basically means that one "vehicle" has the capability to "transport" three non ...

<r> As golden delicious said, the truck-borne panzer grenadier squads also have (had) two MG-34 (or MG-42 later in the war) "teams".<br/>

RE: WWII-Db V1.2 (Now for Toaw III)

<t> Hey, I'm what's called an "OOB Slave" (saw this term in another post somewhere in this forum). I enjoy the detailed nature of TOAW. However the shortcomings in the standard equipment database have frustrated my past attempts to try my hand at scenario design. I don't like having to make ...

RE: WWII-Db V1.2 (Now for Toaw III)

<r> This is great[&o]! I am glad to see legitimate additions to the equipment set, especially for WWII German OOB. One thing I would like to see added though are halftrack prime movers. Germany produced something on the order of a quarter million (all types) of these vehicles before and during the ...

RE: DnO Update for TOAWIII?

<t> Thanks gd. I have COW and did "convert" the latest DnO version (3.7) for play in TOAWIII. I was just curious if the original scenario designer (or someone else) was/is going to update the scenario with respect to the enhancements available in the latest version of the program (more events, etc ...

DnO Update for TOAWIII?

<t> I've enjoyed TOAW since Vol. I and have bought (played) every version (WotY, COW, etc.). With respect to the "FitE crowd", Daniel McBride's [&o] "Drang nach Osten" is IMHO the best TOAW scenario ever designed for this game, period. In his outstanding scenario briefing document he laments not ...
