Re: New Europe+ North Africa + Western Asia map

I used klett-perthes maps, I am not sure, but I seem to remember that they use a Mercator projection.
I took the map of Europe and the Middle East, the one of North Africa, the one of Asia and mixed them up.

Re: New TOAW IV database

I use the toaw equipment editor;

In data 1 page:

First calculate the weapons; the CAKA turret is equiped with a HMG and a autogrenade launcher, so:
HMG: AT=2; AP=27, AA=2
AGL: AT=5(HEAT), AP=24, AA=0
HMG+AGL: AT=5(HEAT), AP=51, AA=2

Then you must calculate the volume, with this formula ...

But that poses issues for Matrix; specifically, how to determine if images are in the public domain or not.

The images on wikipedia were not free?

Re: Where to find good sources

There were some pdfs with the OOB and TO&E for NATO and WP in 1989.
Searching on Google I found these 2 pages

For NATO

For Warsaw Pact

Question about SSM missiles and Shell weight

All SSM missiles like scud, ATCMS, lance, etc. have a shell weight of 0.
If you look at any photo with the results of the missile impact, you can see the crater left, much larger than that of an artillery round.
Could this be a bug like the one with self-propelled mortars, that also had no shell ...

Europe 2022

Attached is my new scenario, I made it as a test of modern warfare.

It covers Europe, North Africa and Middle East at 15Km/Hex scale, it is the biggest map I ever made (119.837 Hexes), The time scale is 1/2 Week.
The scale of the units is set to battalion level

Due to the high complexity, there ...

Re: Ukraine 2022 - Development Thread

Hello sPzAbt653,

The standard version of the m-84 already has targeting++++, so the improvement in optics and sensors is useless.

Same for engine upgrade. The engine power and the weight of the tank are used to decide if the equipment is "agile equipment", if it is more than 20cv/ton it is "agile ...

I've never tested the optics ratings to see what difference they make in hits on enemy armor. It would be interesting to do so.

Cheers
In pages 159 and 160 of the manual you can see how the anti armor fires work (according with their targeting rating).

Re: New TOAW IV database

With the game's rating system (that it's not bad, but some times is too poor), there's no much to do.
Perhaps it would be nice to change the composite armor to laminated armor, to reflect the ERA armor upgrades.

Re: New TOAW IV database

Yes, there is a entry for T-64BM, but due toaw engine limitations, in the database basically is a T-64BV with the agile flag enabled (it seems that its engine gives 1000 hp )

RE: Most SP Mortars do not have a shell weight in game

Yes, as you say, SP mortars, as they have no shell weight, are not working effectively against entrenched units, same for multiple rocket launchers. This issue exists from the old TOAW II. The solution is that you can edit the database easily and correct this.
