You really need 70 strength to use decent armor. One armor type even takes 90.

You have to research them first in order to sell them. Basically, many of the weapons you find will be much needed when you research them since the older weapons become far less effective against newer enemies.

Also, Heavy Lasers unlock the initial Robots.

Bear in mind, all enemies are kinda unlocked anyway due to TIME as well as these techs.

One other thing, the different Alien Eras (with tougher aliens in each era) seem to appear quicker on the harder settings. Release of these eras is also tech-based, but the difficulty settings tend to make things happen a little sooner (time-based).

Maybe not. I do not think there are more missions at harder diff., but maybe so.

I am not certain about that mod. If you have the red + sign, then as long as you win the mission you should will get your soldiers back. They will go to the hospital for many days. Again, this is standard without a mod and I do not know how that mod works.
