RE: Cavalry charging Cavalry = Good night Gracie

<t> Hiya Gil,<br/>
<br/>
I'm sorry, I don't have a save game (so 1 1/2 hours of fighting lost......) that I can send to you. <br/>
<br/>
Could this be recreated by letting 2 Cav only forces charge each other in some kind of testing environment?<br/>

Cavalry charging Cavalry = Good night Gracie

<t> Gentlemen,<br/>
<br/>
First of all, thank you for this wonderful new patch, I had so many plans for the weekend, but ended up not doing my taxes, cleaning my house or even shopping for a new suit. I chose to kill Yankees, many many many Yankees. <br/>
<br/>
One small problem though: when the ...

Naval Combat, Ironclads vs. Wooden Ships

<t> Gentlemen,<br/>
<br/>
Can someone explain to me why:<br/>
<br/>
1) My Ironclads 'catch fire' and retreat after taking 0 damage?<br/>
<br/>
2) My Ironclads then retreat without having taking any damage and hammering the Union, leaving the entire fleet to be captured post combat?<br/>

So here's a question -- has anyone ever noticed a general starting with the right bio and then having it replaced with another, or is it always that generals come into the game with the wrong bio?<br/>

RE: Generals not matching their Bios

<t> Happened to me too, some rather sharp looking CSA general (Davis... something like that) guy got some Hungarian Union general's bio... nothing game breaking, but still quite annoying, he showed up after a few turns and was the first one with a wrong bio, no manic resetting on my games, so that ...

RE: Heroes/Dreaded

No matter how cool your troops special abilities are...... without good tactical battle plans, it's all useless. I've found that a mediocre brigade at the right time at the right place is more important then fancy special abilites.

RE: Time is running out...

One last thing I just realized.....

Surrendering Units are not counted properly in 'dead or captured' Summaries and Battle Statistics..... this is probably a hard one, but annoying for me, as I want to know what % of the enemy force I destroyed.

I've just won my first game as the CSA (on the 4th or 5th difficulty level) and the following strike me as rather odd:<br/>

1) My ironclads get routed a lot by Union 'wood' ships (2 Ironclads vs. a fleet of 8 USN ships) and subsequently ...

I would just like to add that I agree that the map is really really nice, clear (this is important) once you get the hang of 'riverbed' provinces. My grey hat is off to you, Sirs.

Seeing the enemy units move on detailed combat

<r> Am I missing a button somewhere? <br/>
