My vote is for WW 2 in the Pacific- operational/strategic in scope. You guys killed Harpoon, now go slay War in the Pacific!

RE: Balance discussion

<t> While we're discussing game tweaks- One question I have is what is the rationale for making regiments and brigades slower when entering enemy territory? IMO, if anything, they should be faster since they don't place such a strain on the local road network that a unit 3x the size would (though I ...

RE: Wish list for colors

Has anybody cataloged the existing RGB settings for the various armies? I want to change the Army Group colors from white, but that overwrites the subordinate armies also.

Sdkfz 250/1

Where are the Sdkfz 250/1 and most other variants? Wouldn't there be a couple dozen in the Panzer/Pz Gren Recon battalions from 1942 on? I only see the 250/9 listed in the production screen.

RE: Grand Tactician American Civil War

<t> If you watch some of the Grand Tactician gameplay vids, you'll see the pace is pretty sedate. Not a clickfest like Steel Division at all. Personally, I think pausable real time is the preferable format. Turn based is an artificial holdover from the board game era, and distorts time and space.</t>

So Germany loses to UK/France in Oct 41 without active intervention from USSR/USA. Seems "off" to me.

RE: Improvements?

<t> Maybe the larger scenarios would be easier to play if you could order entire formations to move together. Say clicking just on the Bde HQ and moving it, and the subunits all move in formation without needing to move them individually. Sort of like Command Ops for those familiar with that game ...

RE: Desert War: What's Next?

<t> Wouldn't it be easier and quicker to bring new games out if they are an evolutionary step from the current Desert War, rather than a jump to an entirely new theater? Assuming so, I think the best bet for the developers would be to expand to slightly earlier, and slightly later, and ...

RE: BK Games Website?

How about finishing off North Africa with a Torch expansion? Or here's one that doesn't get any wargame coverage: Lebanon-Syria.

Though someone with the research resources could probably make those in the editor now.

Note in the Editor you can also "export" the unit OOB from one scenario (as a CSV file) and "import" it into another (and then of course delete / add units) so with the ability to "cut" a section from the main map and use parts of an OOB ...

Is there a mechanism to simulate airborne landings, e.g. if we wanted to do a Crete or hypothetical Malta battle? How about seaborne?

RE: Campaign?

If not a day-by-day campaign, perhaps the current scenarios could be linked? Allow some administrative tasks in between (like the "camp" in Ultimate General: Civil War) so that you can reorganize/equip/train your army.

I wish 2by3 would go back to WITP first instead of WITE or WITW. I'm not a big fan of the WITE game engine. WITP, OTOH, is one of my favorite game engines of all time.

Agree.

OS compatibility issues are another reason to revise and release a new WitP. Each new version of Windows is going to leave the current game further and further behind. C'mon Matrix! Like GaryChildress says, it's your flagship game!

RE: Rule of the Waves

<t> So far as managing budget goes, try not to fall into the trap of having lots of construction halted. Halted ships still cost some money. Many new players go "I need a new class of whatever", design it, order multiple numbers, THEN realize they can't pay for it. Also don't go crazy refitting old ...
