RE: Suicidal attacks?

<t> Looking at the map, it looks like there are several garrisons that are doubled or trippled up. What about coding the AI to pull forces from Garrisons to plug holes? Especially where they are doubled and trippled up? I think it safe to say that most human players would do this unless they have a ...

RE: Super-cannons be gone!

<r> Looking at the screen shot, I would take a guess that Ericbabe hit the nail on the head.&nbsp; I know when I've tried encircling the enemy, espeacially in suprise attack situations, I run into the yellow and red zones which just kill morale.&nbsp; If I get too far around to the rear or too far ...

RE: Surrender in Detailed Battle

<t> I've had the supply caissons dissappear on me a few times. I'm playing with the most recent patch. I've also had units dissappear, though it only seems to happen to units that have less than 500 men in them. You can still tell they are there by the fact you can't move anyone into the hex, or ...

RE: How do you fight your battles?

<t> I've noticed in the most recent game I'm playing, there is a huge difference in the outcome of the same battle if I reload and try a different method. <br/>
<br/>
Detailed battles still give the best opportunity for the human player to win in any scenario. Other than issues where my entire ...

RE: Detailed combat movement modifier bug?

Nope, don't think it is a penalty for firing. In each case it has been a 4 point movement delta. Example, 16/20 or 12/16. Firing takes up 6 movement points. It is almost like I'm getting nailed for a facing movement when one doesn't take place.

Shrug....

Detailed combat movement modifier bug?

<t> While monitoring the Attack report, I noticed on several occasions I was being handicapped in the modifiers for my unit that was either firing or counterfiring for having moved when in fact they had not moved. I noticed at first with one of my artillery units, but also noticed it happend on ...

One bug, one suggestion on the new patch

<t> Having downloaded the patch on the guidance of Gil and folks, I've found it to be a nice upgrade. The computer AI in detailed combat is getting to be a better tactician which is a nice change. <br/>
<br/>
A bug I have found though, and I've seen it twice, is a request from a govenor during the ...

Interesting to hear about the justification for the ranges of the weapon systems in the detailed battle screen. I can see where either an AI or a human could manipulate the ...

<t> Thanks Rasmus.<br/>
<br/>
I'm playing with the Patch 1.9.23. So that should put things in perspective a bit better I hope. <br/>
<br/>
Appreciate the feedback, espeacially the tip on the generals. Must have missed the 'G' key ability in the readme file of the patch notes. Will have to play ...

First off, I want to thank the developers for producing an excellent game! Having grown up playing the old SSI tactical wargames like “Turning Point: Gettysburg”, seeing “Forge of Freedom” was nostalgia hit to my wargaming experience. The game ...
