Re: Annexation of Xinjiang Province

Thanks! Didn't know there was an update the Strategy Guide too. I was going by a printout of the original guide.

Re: Annexation of Xinjiang Province

Yes , 1941 Day of Infamy. Beginning August 8, 1945 turn USSR is at war (just attacked the Japanese in the preceding Allied turn) and Mongolia jumps from 20% to 82% mobilization. The next Axis turn (Aug 28) Mongolia is at war. On 4-30-1945 Jap morale falls due to Germany surrender.

Re: Annexation of Xinjiang Province

I guess I was not clear; the Axis did not declare war on Mongolia. Mongolia entered the war as an Allied minor power a couple of turns after the USSR mobilization jump to 99%. Mongolia sent a recon unit to northern China, scary, but I has no Idea that was the only Mongolian unit built!

Just ...

Re: Annexation of Xinjiang Province

Mongolia entered the war after USSR. I tried to reproduce the events. This time DE 400 did not kick off. My next turn the USSR again jumped 53% to 99%. China is still alive and twitching. A couple of turns later Mongolia enters the war. This is what I would expect to happen, though the 53% jump ...

Re: Annexation of Xinjiang Province

I was using version v1.02.00. Funny China never surrendered to kick off DE 400 the capital moved to Urumqi a few turns before and mobilization was below 50% (48%). So how did DE 400 kick off? No plunder that indicated the surrender of China. China national morale increased with entry of USSR. Could ...

US ships in USSR Ports

At the end of Day in Infamy (and at the end of the War in the Pacific) there are damaged US warships and a carrier with depleted aircraft, Ice bound in USSR ports. Since the USSR is a non-cooperative major power shouldn't these ships be sent to ports in the USA or its cooperative allies for repairs ...

Annexation of Xinjiang Province

I was playing the Japanese in Day of Infamy against the Allied AI. On the Axis June 29, 1945 turn USSR mobilization was at 46%. At the end of the turn there was a notice that the USSR was annexing Xinjiang Province. Then I was told that the USSR was mobilizing for war (99%). DE 812 should have given ...

Re: 2K FrankenCounters for Older Eyes Release v1.1

With the new DLC I noticed I noticed you changed the standard unit size indicators. The original vanilla counters appear to be correct with the exception of some British units in 1944 Impal and Kohima campaign. There the division symbol (X) was used instead of the regimental (II). (This is only ...

Re: 2K FrankenCounters for Older Eyes Release v1.1

Operation Olympic/Coronet has US Divisions. Japanese has brigades, battalions, divisions, pill boxes, coastal battery, etc. Could use different colors underneath infantry symbols or different size boxes. Looks like a little work.

Re: 2K FrankenCounters for Older Eyes Release v1.1

Well I am still working on version 1.02 looks like V1.03.04 is out. This newer version appeared quickly!

Version 1.03.04: The counter Mod still works for me, but I have not purchased the New DSL, yet. Did not know that was finished too. It would be nice to see it noted in the Forum. Last I saw it ...

Re: Jap Sub supply does not decrease after use.

I tried sending a link to my Google Drive, maybe it went to spam? Once the sub left the lower Tricomalee hatched hex the sub did lose supply and take damage as expected. Seems to be related to the hatched Tricomalee hex(s?) There were several battles at that hex with no damage. Bombings of the city ...

Jap Sub supply does not decrease after use.

I have a Jap sub off Tricomalee. Despite attacking a carrier, destroyer, bombing the town and attacking a sea lane the supply level remains at ten. The other sub in the Solomons also appears to stay at ten.

Re: 2K FrankenCounters for Older Eyes Release v1.1

I like the mod and I am using it now but I noticed that the CC class counter for the Japanese is "empty" (no unit picture in it). Is this intended? And is the designation as "CC" correct? I think it is BC = Battlecruiser.

The Japanese did not build Battle-cruisers (pocket battleships). After ...

Re: Pacific Airborne Units

My regards to your Dads service. I was wondering why you built a counter for the 11th Airborne Division. When I play these games I get out historical references and spend most of my time reading. Is there any particular books on the 11th do you recommend? I read the book "Corridor, The Rock Force ...

Re: 2K FrankenCounters for Older Eyes v1.0

Great Job on your final version 1.0! I was originally confused with your axis minors, since it depicted counters that were not all allowable builds. I love the Chinese splayed crosses! I have been using your original counters since the day you posted them and forgot they were not the original ...

Re: 2K FrankenCounters for Older Eyes

I assume the purplish counters are National Chinese. Why do they have the Thailand flag? Otherwise great job on your mod! It is close to the holidays and you need not rush your project. It is not like you are being paid to do this. Relax, sit back and review you work and enjoy... Happy Holidays! :D

Re: Pacific Airborne Units

Oops, in my original text I typed the Tenth Airborne were it should have been the eleventh. Yes, the two 11th Division glider regiments landed amphibiously on Luzon. The third, 511th regiment made an air drop a few days later on a ridge- line trapping Japanese forces between high ground and the ...

Pacific Airborne Units

I haven’t played the allies yet, but I was curious about what was available for paratrooper builds. The Tenth Airbourne Division was available and did see combat in the Philippines and would likely have been used in the invasion of Japan. The First Marine (Airborne Division) was also a possible ...
