Re: Bug: Damaged cruiser is not being repaired

Please do share that save with us and tell us how to reproduce what you're seeing and we'll investigate.

Hi Erik,

Followed the instructions posted in Steam, for creating a bug report. Regarding the saved game file, compressed it into a .GZ file & put it in my DropBox ... if you could tell ...

Re: Bug: Damaged cruiser is not being repaired

Took the steps below to try to get a cruiser with fuel, but a disabled reactor, repaired. It's health was 70%.
Ordered the entire fleet to be repaired.
Removed the damaged cruiser from the fleet.
Gave a large construction ship orders to move to the damaged cruiser.
Selected the construction ...

Re: Bug: Damaged cruiser is not being repaired

The squirreled away saved game definitely has the injured cruiser; it's the only damaged one not in a fleet, and probably the only cruiser period not in a fleet. Even if one of the construction ships is not next to the crippled cruiser, it's easy enough to summon one. Do you know the procedure for ...

Re: Noob Struggling...

The explanations in the 1.0.4.8 section of the change list may help:

Fleet Engagement Range vs. Engagement Range

There is now Fleet Engagement Range (re-named) at the fleet level and Engagement Range at the ship level.

When a ship is in a fleet, the Fleet Engagement Range will override the ...

Re: Noob Struggling...

Hopefully someone will correct me if I'm mistaken... but in my experience if you click colonize from the colony itself, it kicks off the process from scratch (i.e., a new colony ship is built and sent when possible). I believe any existing colony ships you've already constructed are ignored ...

Re: 1.0.8.8 Public Beta Update Available

Hi Erik,

Started my very first game (playing as the Ackdarians) with the previous beta version, and have upgraded to the latest beta.

No issues, either because it affects new starts only. Or I'm too green to recognize a serious issue.

After putting this together I reread your post and you already found them. :). Just leaving this here for others who want to reference the videos you mentioned. I also think the race description up above is great but here are some videos for you.

There's a number of series on this really. I ...

Indeed, the space ice cats are surprisingly potent. I made a post about it on the Steam forums as well.
Thanks Nightskies,
Found that link on Steam.

I think the videos channel on the official discord will give you plenty to look at.

Your ideal Colonization Range Limit will depend on the size of the galaxy (bigger: increase range), the number of stars (more stars compared to size of galaxy: decrease range), and how many empires there are (more ...

Re: Good videos to watch before buying DW2?

Thanks Nightskies,

You're right about the current state of the game: Don't think it's quite there yet, BUT I perceive it to be in a playable state. That said, spending more time on the videos allows time for,

The devs to release the next patch, and/or
DW2 to go on sale

Absence of either won't ...

Good videos to watch before buying DW2?

Watched a set of 4 from Boiler Gaming, tutorial from IcOn Gaming, set of 4 videos by Scott's Space on the game mechanics, 2 sets from Strategy Gaming Dojo, and started watching a series by DasTactic about reptiles vs. bugs.

Background : Never played 4X games before, and have learned to shun RTS ...

Re: CMO: Corrupted scenario error, after updating to build 1147.42

Hi KnightHawk75,

Took your advice, and no only upgraded to build #44, but also added the database file, DB3K_488.db3.

It solved the Sub tutorial issue (which was moot, since I'm done w. the tutorial files), but more important, it allowed me to load the Merry Christmas, 1985 scenario, from CSP #45 ...

Re: Turbo Time Compression: What could trigger it?

Found the problem: Have a tendency to change the time compression frequently. And I use the arrow keys to scroll around the map.

IF you fail to click on the map, after changing the time compression, and then use the arrow keys, expect the time compression to change.

Re: Need help to understand what I'm doing wrong in Surface Warfare Tutorial 1.5

Thanks darkhelix for starting, as well as everyone that replied. This was by far the nastiest of the surface tutorials, but also the most enjoyable, after you get past the boring shore bombardment. My solution was different that darkhelix, but still handled those nasty missile-launching subs ...

Re: Submarine Depth, for launching the SUBROC missile?

Yes. You should be able to launch it at a depth of 164 feet or shallower. Looking at the DB entry now, it also cannot fire at targets located closer than two nautical miles.

Interesting. When I found the Akula , was practically on top of it. By trying to get away from me, it entered my ...

Re: Submarine Depth, for launching the SUBROC missile?

The SUBROC missile lists a Launch Altitude of -164 ft. Which I read it as,
  • It can be launched from a depth of -164 feet below the surface.
  • Since that info was for SUBROC, not the LA class subs, different missiles could have different launch depths.
Is that how you would interpret this?

Submarine Depth, for launching the SUBROC missile?

Had trouble launching the SUBROC, from Los Angles class sub in the Submarine Tutorial 2.4 . Instructions in the tutorial said 'Shallow', but it wasn't launching. Finally surfaced, and the missile launched. (Sank the Akula with 20 mins left.)

Being surfaced obviously worked, but what is the deepest ...
