Re: How Strategic Command American Civil War succeeds as a strategic and operational game

Great perspectives presented here. I count myself among the skeptical, but you raise some really great counter arguments worthy of consideration. Definitely going to pick this up at some point :)

Re: Combining Units

It will be interesting to see how things are done, since there weren't "fronts" in the Civil War with tens of miles of units lined up against each other.

Re: Strategic Command: American Civil War Announced

Are there any upcoming developer diaries in the works, perhaps? :)

Re: Troops, Organization, etc.

Sounds interesting! I'll check out some of the other SC titles. I had contemplated joining the beta, but I've never beta tested anything before, and am not sure I'd be able to dedicate the time it deserves. Thanks for responding, and I'll look forward to future updates!

Troops, Organization, etc.

Excited to see how this pans out! I've been wanting a hex based take on the whole Civil War going back to my days with Frank Hunter's American Civil War, so I'm very intrigued. I've never really played any of the SC titles, so I have nothing to go off of, but am I correct in thinking that it looks t...

Re: Resolution

Thanks all, I can’t speak for the OP, but for my part I will give the 100% thing a try. I had suspected that might be the solution for the wacky text, but hadn’t had a chance try it.

Wondering this as well. My text is all kinds of messed up and hard to read.

Re: Russian Mil 24 shot down

It's interesting. It feels really surreal to see clips of things like that that have cropped up during this and other recent conflicts like Syria and think...I just watched people die, real-time. Not a war movie. Pretty unsettling, really.

RE: Can someone explain Discord?

<t> I use it mostly for flight simming and find it really helpful. You can search channels and find answers from long ago questions. The developers I follow frequently post updates or tidbits and regularly interact with people real-time, mostly with text, and as I've learned how to use it I find it ...

RE: Campaign Series Legion on Twitch

<t> Are all the units and platoons just generically named? Just beginning to watch the playthrough of Operation Starlite in the unit pane I just see things like "Marine Platoon 65" or "Gunship (Hog)" rather than a "1st platoon/D Company/5-46th Bn" that sort of thing. Is there not a defined chain of ...

<r> She may not have been the biggest nor the most famous, but the USS North Carolina will always be my favorite because she was the first warship I ever toured. The first of the new generation of USN fast battleships in WWII, she had an impecable service record in the Pacific...and she had an ice c...

RE: New Player - Best way to track hours

<r> I can't speak for the OP, but I guess I just kind of like to know at a glance how much time I've invested in something. Weird quirk I guess. I've kept track of it for model building, drive times with trips, etc. I'm going blame it on growing up loving sports statistics, haha. <br/> <br/> For exa...

RE: New Player - Best way to track hours

<r> Use GOG Galaxy. You can add games that aren't offered on GoG and it will track your hours. You just work through a couple steps and link the executable to it from the folder where your game is installed. You'll even get breakdowns for weekly, monthly, and yearly gameplay time. I've added most al...

A hex based game with great detail like WitE 2 or Commander would be magical. Like the Grand Campaigns of the Civil War board game but for the whole country.
