RE: Favorites in Military History

Ain Jalut is the one single battle that most fascinates me, even though I prefer WW2 games.

RE: Computer War in Europe

I must admit this sounds very tempting while waiting for WiF.

Is there an active PBEM community?

Book on Yugoslavia/Greece in WW2?

Could anyone recommend a book on the military operations in these two countries during WW2?

Not partisan warfare, more on combat operations and not just about UK/Commonwealth forces. Italian/Greek war in Albania would be of interest as well.

Thanks

RE: Germans were good Strategists - Devil's Advocate

Moscow would have been Stalingrad on a bigger scale.

I always thought the cruicial decision was WHEN the Soviets were attacked, as in several years too early. The war in the west needed to be settled first. If that would even have been possible is an entirely different question.

For the SouthWest, here is one of my favorite places in the world: http://www.nps.gov/seki/

Honestly I cannot recommend either Commander: War in Europe or WW2: Road to Victory.

Movie didn't look too interesting to be honest. I prefer actual combat scenes.

Sincere. As stated above, Axis and Allies is a superb game for introducing someone to wargaming.

Isn't there a new version out? I've been thinking about getting it to play with my 5-year old.

Perhaps we could have a forum for this game, it certainly sounds like an interesting project (even if I would have preferred the entire European war).

I would pay for an early version.

More "testers/volunteers" is a good thing.

Sadly the current biggest threats are probably rogue elements in any nuclear-armed army.

Honestly just stop responding to the "trolls". Internet forums are always full of people who behave any way they want (or think they know better than everyone else) because of the anonymity.

<t> The great thing about the Olympics is the sports you never get to see otherwise. For 4 years between the Olympics it's just football, football, football on TV (either US version or "soccer", take your pick).<br/>
