Ain Jalut is the one single battle that most fascinates me, even though I prefer WW2 games.

I must admit this sounds very tempting while waiting for WiF.

Not partisan warfare, more on combat operations and not just about UK/Commonwealth forces. Italian/Greek war in Albania would be of interest as well.

Moscow would have been Stalingrad on a bigger scale.

I always thought the cruicial decision was WHEN the Soviets were attacked, as in several years too early. The war in the west needed to be settled first. If that would even have been possible is an entirely different question.

100% PBEM as soon as I feel comfortable with the rules (AI opponent until then)

Honestly I cannot recommend either Commander: War in Europe or WW2: Road to Victory.

Movie didn't look too interesting to be honest. I prefer actual combat scenes.

Sincere. As stated above, Axis and Allies is a superb game for introducing someone to wargaming.

Isn't there a new version out? I've been thinking about getting it to play with my 5-year old.

Perhaps we could have a forum for this game, it certainly sounds like an interesting project (even if I would have preferred the entire European war).
