Re: Interesting but

I too prefer to keep the theatres separate. World at war is too big.

Re: A few pre-purchase questions?

1. SC is simpler, I prefer it to WITW / WITE / HOI4 (they have too many units for my taste). Gameplay + UI are smooth
2. The classic ones were excellent, although I only play the newer ones now. That said I do know people who play the older ones (the classics have slightly smaller maps).
3. Great, I ...

Re: Speculation on the next game in the series?

A new + improved WW2 Russian front game would be my dream option (larger map, more turns etc). An updated version of Assault on Communism for those that remember that game.

Re: first impressions

Thanks Hubert, I was unaware that the lack of an additional zoom level (for the bigger map) was more about technical issues. Other suggestions that might help are therefore most welcome.

The game is great and as always your support and passion are excellent.

Re: Why move SC ACW from the top of the new releases section

I agree. I've been looking forward to this since announcement. I've been struck by how little marketing there has been for this. For example Starship Troopers had much more coverage. Now I have to search for the forum for a game that has been out for a day. Fury Software deserves better.

Re: first impressions

The map size is good for what the game is representing. Another zoom level would be nice though, as it can be hard to find things. Asking players to adjust their settings or change file names is not an ideal solution.

Disabling partisans

It is really cool that you can now disable the partisans with a single click when setting up your game (through "Decisions" in the Advanced Scripts).

I find partisans annoying rather than fun, so I always disabled them in previous games. However you had to turn each one off individually, so you ...

RE: Supply Frustrations

<t> I find the current supply system good, as Alvaro is trying to reduce the micromanagement (which I like). The need to repair railways during rapid advances works well.<br/>
<br/>
I'm not a fan of the partisan system though. In my current game I had reached the Kiev line in July 41 (after ...

Turkish trade WAD ?

<t> I upgraded to the latest patch mid game, playing as Germany vs AI. Prior to the patch I had got Iraq (via capturing Cairo) and Turkey (via capturing Baku before the Americans came in).<br/>
<br/>
Since the patch it seems (i) my oil from Iraq no longer is getting to Germany, (ii) my German ...

RE: So new twist

<t> My current game (2 levels higher than Historical, German AI): AI invade France ~Apr 40, I let him take it over in Sep 40 as he was only making slow progress against my defence (he would have beaten them eventually but I didn't want to spoil his invasion of Russia). <br/>
<br/>
He then attacked ...

RE: Magical Channel Crossing

AI game, the AI was doing the teleporting.

Yes, it had the pink movement arrows, that's how I knew it was that unit, not say another corp making a new landing. Sorry, I don't have a screen shot.

RE: Magical Channel Crossing

<t> I had a different problem in the 1939 scenario with teleporting units.<br/>
<br/>
A German Corp landed in Harwich. The next turn it captured Liverpool and Cardiff (12 hexes through terrain I controlled, with a couple of my units with ZOC in the way). <br/>

I've had a couple of similar ...

Escorts

Is there anything we can research to increase the effectiveness of Escorts ?

I've put maximum research into "Convoy Escorts" over several games, but I think they only affect ships like Patrol Grp. Am I wasting my time using research this way ?

<t> I know reinforcements are meant to be automatic. The manual says "The unit will repair 20% of it's full strength each turn if possible".<br/>

I have units sitting around for months in full supply, on railroads, near HQ's, with plenty of production points etc that never gain anything (eg ...
