Axis Gereric troops

Going through the editor, I found quite a nice collection of Axis Generic troop types. These include infantry, artillery and support troops. However, outside of Hiwi labour squads and support squads, I haven't seen them used in any unit not even the Ost regiments, Cossack formations or the late war ...

Really?

Sorry I'm next to illiterate in such stuff. Is there a tutorial on how to do so?

Re: Any mods for Croatian units and other stuff

Not really. I am thinking about the Croatian units found in the '44 scenario Fire on the Danube. Its the Croatian army proper rather than German raised Croatian units like those you mentioned.

Let's face it, in real life, after the removal of Italian units, the Croatian units were providing both ...

Any mods for Croatian units and other stuff

Hi all

Not a modder and does not understand anything about modding...

Just curious. Is there a mod that introduces the Croatian units (and other rather specific units) found in the Danube scenarios. in the main scenarios? And maybe even one that opens up Yugoslavia to gameplay?

Re: Why Foreign Units Should Appear in Spain

I tend to agree with you on this matter especially because its next to impossible to escort convoys with anything meaningful except the Italian cruisers who tend to stay for a few days and then leave. The biggest issue that I've encountered was the Republican airforce which repeatedly hit such ...

Re: What will be the next game?

Another area it could cover would be WWII Italian campaign. However, I think one would need to find a way to entrench units even in non-urban hexes to simulate the ability of the Axis to dig in and slow allied advances to a crawl.

Another alternative would be to have a WWII Scandinavian campaign ...

Re: CTD when Clicking on Certain Unit(S)

Hi Q-ball

I found a little work around - its the S Gualdalquavir division

- So first right click the division
- then go to the LCU list to the left and chose the division from the list
- give it any orders you want
- right click on any other unit in another hex and then you can exit or play on ...

Thanks for the information Dali!

So the Laroche, Ifni and Ceuta static division will become the 150 to 152 divisions?

Re: Strategic Questions: Mallorca

Don't forget to bring artillery over so you can bombard when you are conducting the siege. This will require more supplies but once you capture the airfield on Mallorca then your ships from Odesa should be safe until enemy submarines show up. The bombardments should also cause the Nationalists to ...

If I may, I would go for ironing out any outstanding issues at this stage.

Then we can enjoy this game in many different ways, in different eras and so forth! :D

Re: What will be the next game?

Totally agree with Q-Ball - War in the Med would be one of a kind. However, if possible, it would be interesting to stretch the map to Iraq/Iran/Syria/Dodecanese Islands to simulate all the distractions that Middle East Command had. Maybe there could be smaller scenarios like invasion of Greece or ...

Re: Static units

Static units should remain as is. Most of them were nothing more than barrack units/recruiting formations or as indicated above, coastal artillery.

Interestingly, on the Nationalist side there are a few batteries that are not static which allow a little flexibility to the player to move a small ...

Captured ships upgrades?

One of the most interesting features of the game is the ability of military ships to capture enemy merchant vessels on the high seas. Sometimes, one can snag quite nice prizes like large APs or AKs, which for the Nationalists, is a particular boon.

However, I also notice that these ships are not ...

Re: Nationalist blues...

There are about 20 Vildebeests in the game at the beginning of the war.
(and two hydro)

A few more are gradually repaired and assembled from spare parts.
These aircraft were relatively quickly converted by the Republicans to ground LB and used on the ground front. This conversion can be ...

Re: Nationalist blues...

The Vildebeest is like a Betty Bomber (for you WITP-AE players) in the early going....you have to respect anything that carries a torpedo

Without any cap or ship-based AA, they're going to run rampant over the Med. There is not an effective counter for at least a month, when you get some CR 32s ...

Re: Initial impressions

I would second the idea of having a Peninular War setup. For once the French armies will be swallowed whole in such a detailed map and British naval power could prove decisive with Spanish guerillas moving around at will...

Still I'll probably be playing the French side :D

Nationalist blues...

Playing as the Nationalists on one day turns.

Still in the first 'weeks' but I'm constantly being plagued by Republican aircraft sinking ships left, right and centre. Does anyone have the same problem? Can't even see where they are coming from given the pathetic National airforce...

So what have ...
