RE: Network and error code 200

<t> Thanks Erik<br/>
<br/>
Loading on two computers kind of defeats the purpose of what I wanted to be able to do which was play the same scenario on one computer and have that computer act as a server so I could continue the same game with all it's changes on the laptop while sitting in my ...

Network and error code 200

<t> I have a desk top PC with WItPAE on it and to keep from being tied down to my desk I tried to network it to my wireless laptop so I can run the same game on both (same game meaning what I do on the laptop actually done on the desktop). When trying to run on the laptop I access the game and the ...

<br/>
How different from the WItP manual is the new one? Are the games similar enough to use the WItP manual?<br/>
Is the new one included in the boxed game?<br/>

RE: Map Editing Problem from someone new

<t> I'm new to the game myself and am trying my hand at edition. <br/>
<br/>
If you just load and save the scenario it won't work because, as I understand it, there is no data base linked to the new slot and you have to, using the data base editor, load and save a data base to the same new slot ...

RE: unit/base info box

That's all well and good, too bad it doesn't have the same residual effect on my wife.

RE: unit/base info box

Bummer, guess I'll just have to adapt and live with it. I wonder if there is a pill for WITP-AE anxiety? [;)]

Thanks for the quick supply

unit/base info box

<t> I'm new to the game and the forum and this may have been asked but.<br/>
<br/>
One thing, actually the only thing, I find particularly annoying is that the unit/base info block sits right in the middle of the screen and is unmovable. If I should want to, and frequently do want to, see both the ...

Thanks John

I really appreciate all the others who replied but that reply pretty much summed up the answer I was looking for.

RE: 3'' & 5" damage to AP's AK's and LSD's and barges

<t> Now don't get me wrong, I agree and just used the dual purpose 5"/38 range as an example that damage to an assault vessel anchored at six miles was withing the realm of possibility. After all if you throw enough ordinance at something your bound to get lucky. <br/>
<br/>
Kind of reminds me of ...

RE: Unit Support Question

<t> Thank you Mike<br/>
<br/>
I'm working with a modified tutorial scenario with the original cast. <br/>
<br/>
I've only got 3 HQ's, 5th amphib force 7th air and central pacific. I'm kind of hesitant to plunk one of them down in the middle of a landing. I'll land a base force. Not being ...

RE: 3'' & 5" damage to AP's AK's and LSD's and barges

Ok, thank you all.

I'm almost there, final question is does all that mean I should be "building" them to off load them for the assault? If so they really have to get some better wording in the manual.

RE: 3'' & 5" damage to AP's AK's and LSD's and barges

<t> OK, so, to both Panther Bait and 2nd ACR, the Higgins boats are there as they should be but, Panther Bait, do you mean I should be "building" them to reflect putting them into the water when I reach the assault location or can I just ignore the whole thing and it gets done anyway, in an abstract ...

Well, I was just reading about the Sicily landings and all AK and AP type ships were six miles or more off shore. Really not a feasable range for smaller caliber guns. I assume other landings would also set these ships far out of harms way. <br/>

RE: 3'' & 5" damage to AP's AK's and LSD's and barges

<t> Well, that is kind of what is making me wonder. LCM's (mike boats) were carried by AK's and AP's while larger craft of the type were carried in the well decks of the LSD's IE LCU's) and LCI's were actually ships in their own right. I'm actually surprised the Higgins boats would be considered in ...

RE: 3'' & 5" damage to AP's AK's and LSD's and barges

<t> To be honest even off the beach and at the outer limits of three and five inch gun range I would expect a thin skinned anchored target with all it's main cargo hatches wide ass open to take some hits from shore batteries when they could spare the time from shooting at the waves of landing craft ...
