RE: New Player Question About Coral Sea Scenario and AI

<t> Playing after applying the patch. The Japanese surface group included a light cruiser and I thin 5 destroyers. These were in advance of the transports. This time my small Australian surface group intercepted their surface group but was only able to put major damaged on the CL. The transports got ...

New Player Question About Coral Sea Scenario and AI

<t> Hi,<br/>
<br/>
I've decided to have a go at this game which I've actually owned for quite awhile. I started with Coral Sea as<br/>
this was a nice small scenario and I want to get to grips with the system before trying anything larger.<br/>

One thing that I've found a bit ...

RE: Wanted: Barbarossa ground attack tutorial

I'm really enjoying learning the game. I had this one in the 80's but didn't play much at all due to lack of available opponents. Looking forward to getting in some internet play when I've got a better understanding of the system.

I was starting initially by playing combined with offensive chits but in my last fee plays I went with 2 land ops to start. Keeping the air up with the front line is definitely going to be tricky. I haven't played that far into the scenario as I'm still trying to get to ...

RE: Wanted: Barbarossa ground attack tutorial

<t> Great thread!<br/>
<br/>
I've struggled with this one as well as a newbie and have restarted about 5 times but what I think I've learned is to focus attacks on a few key hexes at high odds rather than trying to attack everywhere. One thing I haven't tried yet is to combine that with some ...

I'd save that offensive chit if I was you. I find that the ground strike surprise bonus on declaring war is enough impetus to carry you through the Russian garrison. To get past rivers and deep into Russia, you'll really need that offensive ...

Barbarossa

<t> Hi,<br/>
<br/>
Any suggestions as to what action to play at the beginning of Barbarossa? I'd assumed that a combined action makes the most sense for the first access impulse since it allows for unlimited air and land moves while a land action only permits 4 air moves. <br/>

Thanks,<br ...

<t> Funny you brought that up.<br/>

I'm finding that the unit visuals do appear to lack some crispness in the game - on a Monitor running at 1920X1080. I wondered at first if I could adjust the resolution of the game to improve their visual appearance but haven't been able to find any option ...

<t> I was pretty annoyed to find out that the only shipping option to Canada was Fed Ex. They're extremely expensive at over $40 and that doesn't include the fact that I'll be dinged for the customs charges as well. While the Postal system is pricier than it once was it is still cheaper ( as long as ...
