RE: Support Units

...but they can't do anything else besides combat correct? i.e. Engineers in the game cannot build anything or remove mines etc.

Support Units

I was playing the Iwo Jima scenario last night and I noticed a lot of support units like Engineers, Artillery, Seabees. etc. They aren't really good for combat and I didn't notice any special abilities like building structures. Anyone know what there use is...cause it escapes me.

RE: Master Wishlist Thread

The only thing I see so far is the need to organize your fleets a bit better. A fleet hierarchy maybe? i.e Army->Corp->Regiment...except in a "spacey" kind of way :)

RE: Fleshing out Pilots and other "human factors"

<t> No no...not histories or anything that crazy. Just pass up the data to a UI much like we have for the ships instead of the current "listing" of pilots/personalities that's in there now.<br/>
<br/>
...if it's too much coding for zero gain, then forget about it, but it would unify the UI ...

Fleshing out Pilots and other "human factors"

<r> Apologies if this has been brought up before...but here it goes anyway.<br/>
<br/>
Currently, when we click on a ship, or plane or ground unit's description, we get a whole bunch of wonderful information on it. We're all familiar with those interfaces by now...or mostly anyway <E>;)</E> What I ...

RE: Why is this game so expensive ?

<r> Honestly, I had the same concern as the OP on this one and I took the leap anyway...just because of the passion and the AARs that I saw on this very forum. I am <U><s></s>EXTREMELY<e></e></U> satisfied that I bought this game over HOI3 and I've been playing this game to exclusion of all ...

Noob questions...

<r> Got a very quick set of questions for you guys.<br/>
<br/>
I'm playing the Guadalcanal scenario, and I think I'm doing quite well so far. I've been able to hold PM and I have even took Buna recently...and that's where my first question lies. What I'd like to do is use Buna as a launching point ...

RE: Invasion force left?

ohhh...does this have to be an amphibious TF or a transport TF? Cause I have it as a Transport TF trying to invade the island. Uh ohhhh.... ;)

Invasion force left?

<t> Hey all,<br/>
<br/>
I'm doing the Appalachians (...I think that's how you spell it...lol) scenario and I sent an invasion force to the very first island. It did it's thing and unloaded troops, but then it took off for its home port and left about 700 troops (...out of 4000...) to fend for ...

RE: Thoughts on this Admiral's Edition "Review"?

Well...this is IGN after all.

Some of their top rated games are Street Fighter IV, Sims 3 and Bookworm Adventures. AE is not their type of game.

Coral Sea - Newbie wants to share

<t> I just wanted to share this one. I was doing the Coral Sea scenario, and honestly, I'm not really "doing" that much. Just sending both carrier groups West then heading North. In this round I nailed the Japanese CV and had both carriers at my disposal to hit the invasion force to PM. Take a look ...

RE: Why such a difference to Canadian consumers

Hey Erik...thanks for the response. Looks like you're on top of it.

...and I said "to heck with it" and purchased it last night. Had a great time with the Coral Sea last night and I'm very happy with it.

Cheers,
Darren

RE: Why such a difference to Canadian consumers

Lol Vyper...

I didn't do any of the math cause I was enjoying a nice glass of wine at the time [:D]

Regarding the purchase, I'm going to put it on hold for now. The dollar is supposed to get close to par and I'm hoping the US and CAN prices get a bit closer together.

Why such a difference to Canadian consumers

<t> I must say I'm extremely tempted on getting this. I really liked UV...the depth was perfect.<br/>
<br/>
However, I'm looking at the prices and with the Canadian dollar at about $0.91 US (..ish...) I'm wondering why there is a $20 difference physical and shipment and a $10 difference for just ...
