PBEM Game Crashes at Start Replay

When I click Start Replay in PBEM, the game crashes on me. Any ideas why? Tried 3 times, all 3 times got the crash.

EDIT: Log file attached.

RE: Considering this game, what's MP like?

<t> Thx all. It is kinda funny that there's been absolutely no posts on here for months, but all of a sudden me and another guy (Templer) post up questions about it within five mins of one another [:D]<br/>

I'm playing a few other games at the moment, but I'll keep this one on my radar when ...

Considering this game, what's MP like?

Can someone break down how multiplayer works exactly? In particular, how does the turn and impulse structure work out? How long does it typically take to turn around a turn? How long typically to finish a full game?

How's it rate on the grognard scale compared to WitP and WitE?

RE: Reserves are a PITA now

<t> I fully agree that reserves were a liability previously, as they hardly ever worked, got no fort bonus, and more often than not got trashed/routed in the process. No longer the case, at least not in 1942. The algorithms seem to be very effective now at bringing in enough (and only just enough ...

RE: Riga Gambit

<t> The real importance of Riga is as a supply point. Though not sure if it's still as valid now that Kuresare is harder to bomb into oblivion. Haven't tested it out since the new patches. But before with 1.03, you could get some good supply pulls in via Riga to start up Turn 2, which absolutely ...

Reserves are a PITA now

<t> Reserves have become very nasty in the newest patches. Was playing a PBEM of Op Blue, and after patching up, nearly every battle I fought had tank corps jumping into the battle (several times from 6-8 hexes away). I had one turn where I made decent progress of 3-4 hexes, but the tank corps were ...

RE: Fortifications too much too fast

<t> I'd personally rather see the Soviet divisions be made a bit better early on, and have forts vastly reduced. As it stands now, every PBEM game I've played is a race to stop fortifications. Even when they reach lvl 2 but are 5-6 hexes deep, any offensive gets beaten to crap within a few turns. I ...

RE: Ports, mountains and supply

I'm pretty sure Baku is one of the origination points for supply (one of the Ural cities is the other... Chelyabinsk maybe??)&nbsp; That means anything connected to Baku will always be in supply, it can't be cut off short of taking Baku.

RE: Morale or Initiative

<t> I'd argue morale all the way. Morale is the big factor in determining whether you double your CV or not during combat, and that's the absolute most important thing for either side. I've seen this with my own experiences too, my low morale leaders are terribly bad about coming out with low CV ...

RE: Partisan Sweeps

<t> The rules around partisans are in the manual. I don't have it handy right now, so I can't quote it, but it's something like when a partisan gets displaced, it moves to another valid location 10 hexes away, if that doesn't exist, it's destroyed. It also can't reform next to an enemy unit. So I ...

RE: Rails to Vyazma!

I do this too, makes the most use of the Baltic Rail Repair bonus. I also take the FBD unit west of Brest-Livotsk and send him south, since you really only need 1 line in the center, but you can do a lot of branching off in the wide expanses of the Ukraine.

RE: Mud, and combat in mud

I think it just affects the attacker all the time. You may have seen your opponent simply fail a bunch of leadership rolls and end up with a net /8 result. That happens to the Soviets sometimes :D

<t> Kirk, you are absolutely correct, IMO, but PDH has asked that no negative comments be made against his opponent's gameplay, and I wish to respect that request. Having tinkered with the Soviets some, and played against a very good Soviet opponent in a PBEM game, I will say the key to good Soviet ...

RE: Misplaced Victories - They were here a second ago...

<t> I think&nbsp;you've probably bagged the vast majority of those units now. Just keep pushing your infantry in to the spearhead to close it up for good. I don't think he'll be able to sufficiently open that pocket enough to evacuate very&nbsp;much of it. Maybe some of the units on the eastern-most ...

RE: Misplaced Victories - They were here a second ago...

<t> I'm very interested to see how this plays out too. Do you think it's worth attacking further east at this point, especially now that you have Moscow? To me, it would seem that trying to knock down lvl 3-4 forts everywhere and the devastation of counter-attacks by Soviets against weak German ...

RE: Blizzard house rules review/feedback.

I tend to think 1-7% attrition is too low as well. I think something like 10-16% in December and 5-8% in January/February seems more correct. This would also make those fort attrition bonuses more important.

RE: For those taking Leningrad

<t> There is a light wood hex 2 hexes east of Leningrad, behind that major river line. That is the Achilles heel of Leningrad, IMO. If you take this hex, you can easily cut off the only port on the western side of Lake Lagoda, and Leningrad is out of supply.<br/>

I also firmly believe ...
