RE: OVC and cloud cover

<t> Hi! Do I have to do anything to get the weather zone percentages to pop up on the strat map? I've just started an Eagle Day game (after a long pause in playing, I had to come back to EDBTR, I love this game!). I don't see the %. I tried to put in a screen shot here, but it wouldn't load. <br ...

RE: What have I done????

<t> Welcome! I am very much a lurker here too, but have been playing for the last 3 years. I only have time to play against the AI (I play as the Allies), but it is far and away the best game going. You are in for a great experience and the end of your normal life. WITPAE is pretty much my second ...

RE: Question (no Michaelm please)

Just donated [:)] I've been a lurker forever but almost never comment. I LOVE the game. Been playing the same game as the Allies since Aug 22, 2010. Right now it's Aug 1943. Michaelm's work has more than earned my respect. Happy holidays!

RE: In wich order do you take you move?

<t> Getting into the discussion a bit late, but I play the Allies and it takes me about 45 min/turn. It's currently July 1943. Interesting that everyone runs their turns different. My path is:<br/>
<br/>
1) Hawaii<br/>
2) Alaska<br/>
3) West Coast US, Panama<br/>
4) Along the South Pacific ...

RE: Progress question

<t> I only play against the AI. If I played PBEM I’d never do anything else. To make my game more historically accurate and more interesting I adopt some house rules. Just a few are (btw, I play 1 day turns):<br/>
<br/>
I never train air groups at more than 70%. This reflects sick leave, pilots ...

RE: Fatal accident on my way home.

<t> Very very sad. I was an EMT for a while. The weirdest thing for me was getting ready to go to work knowing that the people I would be helping were going about their business right then and did not know that they were going to be terribly injured or die. It's helped me put my life in perspective ...

RE: I've never seen this before

I've had good success using spotters during night bombardments. They seem very useful as they greatly increase the impact of the bombardment. I've gotten them by setting the BB planes to flying at night; recon; and selecting the hex I plan to bombard.

RE: AE and now WITE

I'm a professor and can barley keep my WitPAE addiction fed. I'll have to wait until I finish my Allied campaign (currently April 1942) until I take a shot at WitE.

RE: How to escort Stukas?

<t> As I said before I love my Stukas.&nbsp; In my current BOB campaign I'm on day 25 and&nbsp;have used my Stukas about every other day.&nbsp; To date I have lost ~140 of them, but they are winning the battle for me.&nbsp; Make sure you have diversionary raids go in a few min before them and they ...

RE: How to escort Stukas?

<t> It's mostly diversion, although some damage can be achieved.&nbsp; Typically I'm hitting distant primary airfields and with ~90 bombers and will get damage levels in the 10% range.&nbsp; Not really great, but when the Stukas hit (I mass them into swams of 90+) they will usually get between 80-99 ...

RE: How to escort Stukas?

<t> I just wanted to add a note about Stukas.&nbsp; They are hard to escort, but I love them!&nbsp; I mainly use them to knock out coastal targets.&nbsp;&nbsp;But&nbsp;I also&nbsp;use them for critical, must succeed&nbsp;raids. I&nbsp;especially&nbsp;like to use them to knock out primary airfields ...

RE: Can we add radius circles? Pretty please?

<t> I agree that it could be hard to add a radius circle function.&nbsp; What about if for fighters&nbsp;some kind of&nbsp;"loitering time over target"&nbsp;indication was added to&nbsp;the mission synopsis? That way&nbsp;we wouldn't have to worry about adding&nbsp;radius circles, but would have a ...
