OVC and cloud cover

Eagle Day to Bombing of the Reich is a improved and enhanced edition of Talonsoft's older Battle of Britain and Bombing the Reich. This updated version represents the best simulation of the air war over Britain and the strategic bombing campaign over Europe that has ever been made.

OVC and cloud cover

Post by sven6345789 »

What exactly does the OVC tell me? I guess it stands for overcast, but what do I do with the info.

Also, where can I find info about expected cloud cover?
Bougainville, November 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9. It rained today.

The overcast (OVC) info tells you the height and thickness of the cloud graphics on the map. There are 6 different weather zones on the map, each with different overcast levels.
The OVC tells you the base elevation of the cloud (fly under this for clear visibility to the ground) and the elevation of the top of the cloud (fly over this to be in the clear, but the ground is obscured). Flying in between these elevations means you are in the thick of the clouds.

You have only the expected cloud cover for the current day. We are working on getting some forecast info to the player for the next patch.

Please add the cloud cover percentage back in in the next patch, if possible.

Added the display of all six weather zones to the strat-map during the planning phase. Also note that area (urban) target circles that do not provide terror points are shown in blue and the ones that do show in black.

Also fixed a swag of issues related to electronic warfare mainly due to data errors. For one thing, ELINT equipped planes now actually collect intelligence and assist with the development of countermeasures.

Next patch coming sometime this Spring.

Seems that conquered states do not provide terror,so hit those railheads dead on!
Axis partners all contribute terror or just Germany? What happens to Italian points when they surrender and change sides? Does the Northern part still contribute to terror?
Looks nice.

Basically any uncaptured urban location East of x=540 will provide terror points.

Hi! Do I have to do anything to get the weather zone percentages to pop up on the strat map? I've just started an Eagle Day game (after a long pause in playing, I had to come back to EDBTR, I love this game!). I don't see the %. I tried to put in a screen shot here, but it wouldn't load.

All you have to do is wait for the 1.06.04 patch...[;)] Hopefully in just a few weeks.
