Re: 1/144th Scale Miniatures

I was introduced to wargaming almost 60 years ago playing with "Bish" Iwaszko who had a business making dioramas for defence companies - here's an old article on his WW2 stuff.

We had a logarithmic scale so that you had about 10cm ...

Re: Really good game - looks a lot better in game than in the screenshots

Thanks for the reminder of this.

I fired mine up and noticed it was a late version 1.10e QF2 = quick fix.

I don't remember what this quick fix was for (and it will not affect gameplay for most people most of the time) but you may want or need to search the web as the Ageod forum with updates and ...

Re: More Scenarios or Campaigns

I'm with briklebritt - more small scenarios please.

Historical, fictional or semi fictional. Maybe even variants of the existing ones? I made some simple variants of Flashpoint Campaigns and Command Ops scenarios by altering the objectives which was easy because it didn't require any programming ...

Re: BAOR (British Army of the Rhine) DLC

If the Russians wanted to attack BAOR they would do it on a Wednesday or Saturday because they were sports days and you couldn't find anybody with authority to do anything - especially if there was more than half an inch of snow because the Brits can't cope with that.

Here's a few more pictures of the rail destroyer - including one of it being used in Italy:

They were made by Krupp.

A blunder?

Exceeded only by the declaration of war against the USA in 1942?

Re: Won't work on Windows 10

I was about to say it works fine for me - but now I find it doesn't - I get an access violation on start up. Maybe some recent windows update wrecked something.
NB I'm on a PC which was upgraded to windows 10 - I have found for instance there are some other games that won't work - e.g. Valor and ...

The game was originally a board game by Philippe Thibaut - one of the Ageod game designers.

Useful having to visit that marketing office in Italy, especially in ski season :)

Incidentally, isn't "Calvinus" of "World War One" game based near there?

Re: the meaning of big hexgons with DBR visible

That looks like the setup - cease-fire stage at the beginning of the Anonymous Heroics scenario.

The introduction to the scenario states that it is a very old scenario and some things might not display correctly in TOAW 4.

Also I think it was specially designed for a head to head competition 20 or ...

Blimey - 12 years on and Matrix is still there, or here.

Well done. I have many games even though I don't play much.

I did have some trouble getting Napoleon's Campaigns and Birth of America to work on one Windows 11 Pro PC (curiously they work on another of almost identical make and specification ...

Almost the same.

I play Darkest Hour - but only the scenarios.

They cost nothing, or virtually nothing so try them.

As an aside, I've never really got how to play Paradox continuous time games. A click fest; or stop every day, week, month, year and re-start. What do you do?

Re: Looking to buy new US Civil War game

So you could get all three for one tankful, which is not a bad philosophy.
I tend to think in terms of the number of beers a price represents.
Unfortunately today I had to fill up at a place 7p more than usual - 70 litres = 1 beer lost because I hadn't planned ahead ! :)

Re: Looking to buy new US Civil War game

Try it or the two Ageod Civil War games.

I've got em but as usual have too many games and not enough time to learn to play properly.

I like maps and for me the first Ageod game AACW has the nicest map,
