RE: Japanese player needed

Of course not, having been 'updated' to the Matrix version. I have the latest, and all previous versions. It is the same core code.
Anyway, I want to play the modern version. Please consider.

RE: Japanese player needed

Yup, that's the one. I too have the original manual. Great work to put it all on one floppy.
Been a Grigsby fan ever since.
So...?

RE: Japanese player needed

So, don't see the thread closed. I want to play Japanese full war, stock scenarios only. I am not a novice - been playing since it came out on floppy disk, but only vs AI. I am finally ready.

<t> I want to play the Japanese vs you. I have been playing this game since it first came out around 1984, but always American. Need a change.<br/>

NEWB looking for same for 43-45 pbem

Wargamer for years but new to this. Pick a side for a one/two turns per week game.

This is a long game so I'm looking for a sticker who won't drop and leave me hanging.

RE: Question about photos in game

Thanks! That's brilliant, and will enhance the game even more than all the art made by you and others.

Great stuff!

Question about photos in game

Among the wonderful art from modders, I have a number of WW2 pictures for each side named ADetail001... and JDetail001... but I never see them appear in game play. Anybody know how to use them? They are .bmp files but I was not allowed to attach here.

Screen resolution issue

<t> I just bought and installed. I set my screen resolution, as directed in the manual, to 1280x1024, and ran the game. I got the opening screen and selected New Campaign. Immediately my screen went black and I saw "No Signal" on screen.<br/>

I reset/restarted and set my screen(TV) to 4.3 ...

RE: Graf Spee

I believe milch cow subs were for resupply of actual submarines. The Graf Spee and other raiders had supply merchant ships like the Altmark to resupply them.

RE: Solo vs multiplayer

How would you start/play a multiplayer game against yourself? Isn't that a solo game? My understanding is there is no AI play. I suppose you could save and send it email to yourself? Not sure.

RE: ASW strategies

<t> There is a double threat, being the subs and surface raider big ships. The astute AXIS player wants to draw Allied big ships to convoy protection. This keeps them away from blockade duty - which bottles up German naval assets.<br/>

I'd build lots of ASW assets, including land-based air ...

RE: Suggestions for New Players

Hi

I'm awaiting my copy of the Classic paper board game and was looking over this computer game and also the Vassal module for WIF. It struck me that, with no AI play - what is the difference between playing the vassal and the Matrix game? Except price.

RE: We need players with imagination

<t> To be honest, I've never played WIF so my answer about comparison would be skewed. My game is pretty flexible and free, as another pointed out. My rules are intended to be used 'with' other games such as WIF to enhance them.<br/>
