RE: ok, seriously, this is really annoying

<t> Ok, I will try all these suggestions, but from reading them I still find it silly that when I get an event of an attack, it focuses the selection on the ship that was attacked, rather than the attack location. 9 times out of 10, the ship has already escaped and is in deep space, leaving me to ...

ok, seriously, this is really annoying

<t> So...I get the message "Ship XXX is under attack from a giant kaltor"<br/>
<br/>
Ok, I'm on it. I've got a fleet sitting around just waiting for this to happen. <br/>
<br/>
So...I click the news message to find out where the attack is happening, as any leader of a glactic empire would ...

RE: Queuing missions not working for fleets (known bug?)

<t> I think I understand what you're saying, but I think I have a different problem. <br/>
<br/>
I am making sure I issue the order to the entire fleet, not individual ships. But I am trying to issue a follow-on order (to queue up a new order to be executed after the fleet finishes what it is ...

Queuing missions not working for fleets (known bug?)

I cannot seem to be able to queue missions for fleets. It seems to work fine for individual ships, but when I queue next mission for a fleet it makes it the current mission. Maybe I'm doing something stupid. Or, is this a known bug?

thanks.

RE: I might be missing something basic, but...

<t> That's *really* annoying. <br/>
<br/>
Another thing I fight with the interface over is simple movement of ships. <br/>
<br/>
If I want to move a ship to a distant planet, I click to select that ship, but then almost always end up clicking the destination planet I want it to go to and so the ...

I might be missing something basic, but...

<t> So, I might very well be missing something obvious, but is there a way for me to tell what *type* of ship is being built at a construction yard using the construction yard window? All it shows me are their names (which I find totally useless) and the icon (which doesn't give me any information ...

RE: Wishlist Compilation

<t> A few new ideas from me: <br/>
<br/>
1) Improve auto-exploration algorithms so multiple ships go to different destinations more reliably. <br/>
2) Give me an option to get a message when a space monster or pirates are sighted. Apparently, now I am only told when they attack<br/>
3) Allow me ...

RE: *really* stupid question

<r> Ok, next in the series of stupid questions: <br/>
<br/>
1) If I tell two or more exploration ships at the same location to "explore all systems in quadrant XX" is the AI smart enough to have them go to different systems? Or will they both go to the same places? I seem to have a lot of ...

RE: *really* stupid question

<t> Ok, a few more stupid questions, if y'all don't mind. <br/>
<br/>
1) Can I build colony ships *only* at colonies? Not at space ports above those colonies? <br/>
2) Only one space port per colony is allowed? <br/>
3) What does the 'speed' of a construction yard indicate (and is there a ...

Are weapons ranges in light-seconds and speed in light-seconds per....day? Or is it unspecified?

RE: *really* stupid question

<t> Thanks! <br/>
<br/>
Next stupid question(s): what are the numbers for weapons range and speed denominated in? Are they kilometers? Hundreds of kilometers? Knowing these things helps me get a handle on the general scale of things. For that matter, what is the scale of the planetary size number ...

*really* stupid question

<t> Ok, so, the subject line is accurate, don't flame me, but I have a *really* stupid question: what does the number after the planet type indicate?<br/>
<br/>
For example, in the manual it notes "Lambda 4, continental planet, 29.1K, 88% quality."<br/>
<br/>
What does the 29.1K refer to? <br ...

<r> Crikey. What the hell is the problem with the moon names. I mean, can't we all agree that having them be random totally blows? Have they said they're gonna fix them? <br/>

But, anyways, I'll check things out. <br/>

<t> Howdy, I'm thinking about getting back into DW (and perhaps buying ROTS), but I was wondering about the status of the wishlist items. <br/>

RE: Ok, bought it and my impressions

<t> Hi all, <br/>
<br/>
I'm a Space Empires 4 refugee (you know the story, SE4 rocked, SE5 un-rocked, and disillusionment set in rapidly). And today I stumbled upon DW. My question is this: for someone like me, is DW the answer to my quest for the "next SE4"? Just to give you some context, I also ...
