+1 several other games suffer from the same so what I did was, unburry my old 19" CRT to play these games on.
Fonts that don't scale well with higher resolution are still quite common in strategy games.

Thanks. I want my escorts to "escort" and my capital ships to attack spaceports, because that's what they were designed for, and not reverse lol :)

There's a race (forgot name) with +50% spy strength, does that mean they start stronger?
Their maximum agent skill might be capped at 400, but does that bonus come after the skill, if so it would be nice.

Have you tried designing your own gas/mining stations with weapons? If so, the civilian sector won't be totally defenseless against pirates.
Then you can easily scrap half your military ships to save a ton of monthly upkeep cost.

grey color, thinner font, removal of the first digit (the year thousand that doesn't ever change), it's all a possible solution.
