PC/laptop transfer

Hi, on vacation so loaded SC WaW onto my laptop. Two PBEM games in progress, I can see that both are waiting for me to make my turn but Error message 'Can Not Find XXXX.dat'

I'm sure I've seen this before for other server games, if not this, but any advice?

Cheers

RE: Avalon Hill's Third Reich, Community Pack Mod

<t> One final point that was missing from my earlier post: the original AHTR played [/i]fast compared to the standard SC game. I don't just mean in overall strategic terms but also the individual units' movement, especially armour and especially once it develops motorisation. The original board game...

Avalon Hill's Third Reich, Community Pack Mod

<t> I’ve just completed an MP game of the ‘Avalon Hill’s Third Reich’ Community mod for SC III – War in Europe, and thought it merited a short AAR. For younger players this was originally a very popular board game, simple mechanics but complex gameplay, which was developed into an early PC game. Bil...

RE: Strategic Command WWII: War in Europe – The “Panzerfaust Update”

<t> Hi, sadly I'm very simple when it comes to PCs: I do know how directory paths and folders work. Installed the new update but the Community Pack content disappeared. I've got the folder that contains the Community Pack games. Now, does this have to be copied to a new sub-directory, or renamed?<br...

WWIII?

Is there/will there be a post WWII Allies vs Communists mod for this along the lines of the one that came with SC Global II? I quite enjoyed that and think it would work with this new design.

Or can someone point me to the right thread?

Cheers

Using laptop as on holiday...

this game's worked on it before, got the latest update, but when trying to continue a PBEM match I get the error message 'Could not find 87118.dat' - what does that mean and can I fix it?

Garrisons?

<t> This is pretty good overall, nice terrain, decent variety of counters, plays smoothly, but both I and two friends have found that it's too easy for a single unit to slip through the lines and b*gger about with supply in a most unWWIlike fashion. I know the official answer is to adjust our strate...

Moving TOAW III scenarios to IV

<t> How easy would this be to do if I have the old scenarios from III and wanted to move them to IV - this must already have been addressed as most of the scenarios are familiar from III, so feel free to point me towards another thread?<br/> <br/> And are there any of the new features that need to b...

RE: Failed(left_button_down)

<r> Same error message as above, swamp move, downloaded fix but further error message when I try to install, as attached. Have I really got to reinstall the whole thing, and the updates? It was working fine until 1.06.<br/> <br/> And, if I really must reinstall, could someone reset my download link?...

RE: Naval combat

<t> Sure it's far too late in the day to raise this but, IMHO, naval warfare would best be handled in a similar way to the war in the air. So you could still have actual units representing naval groups, but as well as moving and individually targeting opposing units, they could also remain in harbou...

Scenario created in 3xb

<t> Hi<br/> <br/> I created a scenario using the temporary 3xb exe. Now that the new patch is out I'd like to be able to open the scenario using the standard exe. but, although I can see it in the HQ section, when I try it says "This version of ToAW cannot load..."<br/> <br/> I think I can understan...

RE: New scenario - COUP D'ETAT!

<t> Cheers, I've playtested it several times as both sides against the PO, with different combination of units revolting, and can always win or draw at the worst. It's definitely bug-free. My experience is that any TOAW scenario that tries to cover anything other than two opponents on either side of...

New scenario - COUP D'ETAT!

<t> Another one of my madder creations: it’s a hypothetical coup in the capital of an unnamed Central American country, one week in six hour turns, 1968, variable Ruling Party vs variable Revolutionary forces, both using US 1950s and 60s equipment: land, sea and air forces. PO for both sides. Uses t...
