RE: Screen res

The buttons didn't seem to work for me either, but then all of a sudden I was able to adjust the resolution. I don't know what caused it to work all of a sudden.

RE: Still looking for Opponents-Eastern US Time Zone

I'm often on around noontime on weekdays. I'm in the mountain time zone in the U.S., which would be two hours earlier than you.

RE: Really good when played against humans

<t> You know, that may have been me you saw on there. I remember the programmers being on one day, and there was someone who left the lobby just as I got back to the computer after stepping away from it. <br/>

I've played 2 or 3 games online, and had a great time each time. The AI in this ...

PBEM?

Is the PBEM in the game what is sometimes now called classic PBEM(swap files using email), or does it use a server of some type?

Really good when played against humans

<t> I really like the way this game system plays out when playing against human opponents. The games tend to be short enough to finish during a lunch hour, and the games I've played against humans have all been a suspenseful experience. Very enjoyable. <br/>

RE: PBEM opponent for the Polish Defence War '39 soon to be sought

I also just got the game and need to get familiar with it, but I would be interested in playing PBEM.

Units firing together or separately?

<t> Having read the manual more than once and played a few games, I am wondering about one point of tactics:<br/>
<br/>
Under what circumstances should a stack of units fire together, and under what circumstances should each unit fire separately?<br/>
<br/>
It seems that squads with a 0 ...

Best starting tech?

<t> I'm just getting back into the game, now that Supernova is out, and I'm trying to decide what's the best tech to start with. The construction tree looks good, but what specific tech is the best to start? Arks, to expand the range of possible colonies? Weather control, for improved growth rate ...

This game is most excellent

<t> I'm a wargamer from way back. (I still have all my old issues of Strategy & Tactics from the 1970s.) Ever since SPI's original "Punic Wars" (published long ago in S&T) I've been a student of Roman history in general and the Punic Wars in particular. And I've been waiting for a game like this one ...

Siege of Rome crash

<t> This CTD came after I moved a large army with Hannibal to start a siege of Rome. The crash happened when the AI started processing the Roman turn. I'm attaching the error file. I was playing the previous version of 1.02 beta. (I have tried in a subsequent post to upload the save game that ...
