I have tried a couple - surely the tutorial. Anyway I think I only hit the display problem that needs the ddl fix.

At a second attempt I managed to run the game (maybe relaunching LaunchFix).

I have a CTD when starting a scenario from the main page. I already have:
- installed all components of the installer
- DirectX = v.12
- unistalled and reinstalled a couple of times
- Ran LaunchFix program

I don't understand how could you install the DLC. The installer only gives two options: Open website and close (screenshot annexed).

I have just bought Distant Worlds 2: Return of the Shakturi, but could not install it.
there is a mismatch between the installer version of ROS and D2 version. The first is 1.2.6.7 and the second is 1.0.6.4 (setup) or 1.2.7.7 (update). This cause The installer to fail with the message that v 1.2.6.7 ...

When selecting the next scenario in the scoring window, there is the enclosed error.
I have tried two different campaigns and some fixing attempts, including a clean install.

Just to recap.
I have installed the game on three different PCs:

a desktop with a 21.5" monitor and resolution 1920x1080 - works correctly (first screenshot)
a laptop with with a 17" monitor and resolution 3840x2400 (recommended resolution) - works correctly (no screenshots)
a laptop with with ...

The resolution is 3200x1800 on a 13" display. The screenshot is related to this configuration and the campaign is impossible to select (as of v. 1.00.02).
In the meantime I have tried an installation on a 17" display with 3840x2400 resolution. In this case the program works correctly. So the issue ...

Yes, with no effect.

I have installed the game on a PC with High DPI screen. The starting screen is not fully shown, which makes impossible to select a Campaign.

Any suggestion?

Agree! The game is unplayable on hi res displays, which is the standard on recent hardware.

Addendum.

I have made some further investigation with WITP-AE.

The pink color is related to the flag "-dd_sw" (Direct Draw via software) and not to "-altFont" (alternate in game font - Lucinda Sans Unicode):

The string is correct. I also tried to reinstall the program, just to be sure all setups were run with admin rights, but nothing changed.
In the meanwhile, I installed the game on another PC, running Windows 10 and it works!!
There should be something wrong with Windows 11. However keep in mind that ...

No way. The very same string has no effect on me.

Anyway the command "-altFont" does not have effects in the shortcut command and I have the font Lucinda installed on my computer.
Any idea about which font is used?

I have installed WPO on my computer which runs windows 11 and has a high DPI screen. Unfortunately all the text has a pink background (see screenshot). I have followed the instructions of post 22714 and tried several settings in the program (compatibility etc) and in the shortcut.

It look like "Rocket launcher" can't be discovered (screenshot 1), but the corresponding technology have already been researched (screenshot 2).
